This game is going to be dog shite. Not purchasing, or supporting it in anyway. It's a huge money grab with a full price title and "battle passes." If immortal and WC3 Refunded have any indication on this game, it's going to be absolute dog shite. Save your money, go play something better like Lost Ark or wait til Throne And Liberty comes out.
ETA: At some point as a small time gamer, people need to start "voting" with their wallet or games as we know it, which has already started the decline is going to get much worse.

Actually exact opposite. Everyone in the closed betas love it and say it's exceptionally well done. And that's mostly true Diablo fans so idk WTF you're talking about it's all very very positive for D4.
Sounds like this will be a homerun more than anything. Expect this to be a massive hit.
I'm going to get the physical copy for hardcore fans when I can pre-order.

Obviously not looking for your to violate any hard or soft NDAs, but if you can answer: I've never played a Diablo game, though I'm obviously somewhat familiar with them. Which non-Diablo game(s) would you compare 4 to?

I've followed on reddit pretty closely and man so many of the OG's just rave about the closed betas and how good it is.

Because they do amazing preorders with limited edition stuff for Diablo. Hence the physical edition and not digital.
I'll be preordering the $500 edition with special sculpture if they have it.
This was D3's collectors edition. Hopefully have something similar.

Not sure why anyone preorders anymore with digital downloads. Games today are buggy as hell at release and you want them to get your money four months early for that?
