IGN Review

Game Informer Review

Anyone pick this up? I put wayyyyy too much time into the last expansion and original game. Planning on getting it going tonight I think

2 new classes (Warlock and Paladin) - disclaimer I play with my original character still and never got into the seasonal stuff. Debating not doing that with this one though - especially if I get a group to play with again.

I got to around 30 last night. Bunch of DC at the beginning but smoothed out. Warlock is the shiny new toy but I went pally again. I'll wait for other people to figure it out

Rolled a warlock. Did a paladin when they did the soft launch preorder release for that class a while back.

Playing solo on expert and made it through first few quests. Seems reasonably competent so far. Not using any build guides. Just picking what sounds cool. I’m sure I’ll eventually respec at a high level to chase whatever the broken build is.

I did last expansion with my first character - a rogue - and other than trying a season once I just play with that - rethinking that this go around.

I'm enjoying it so far. Just doing the new campaign. No build guides or anything. Haven't played in about a year. Diablo 4 had sucked for a while but Diablo and fallout are my favorite games.

Jury is still out. I just don't think for me it will ever be as good as Diablo 3 and will never even sniff Diablo 2 realm.

What I really hate is items have no value. It has always been a loot driven game. Grinding for gear. Now it's(was?) grinding mats for re rolls. There is no economy. It just rains down uniques and mythics and you hope to get the roll value you want. End game has been practically non existent and extremely unengaging. Hell I kinda miss farming bosses for items and trading.

I haven't watched anything for updates to the game. I know they supposedly reworked end game and itemization. But that's not saying much because both were so extremely poor they had no where to go but up

If they'd ever come out with this on Switch 2, I'd take a swing on it.

Diablo 4 + Bloodstained 2 on Switch 2 would finish out my year on stuff to play.

I just played through the original release over the last week to see if I wanted to check out the expansions. Came away wishing I had spent that time on a different game.

I was so bored by the end. I don't know what I expected, but this was not the typical Blizzard storyline I'm used to that captures my attention and has me begging for more. The entire Lilith storyline ended up feeling anticlimactic for me and leaving the Mephisto situation open for future expansions felt like a cash grab.

The combat was fun, but most of the side quests were boring. They clearly tried not to overdo the cutscenes (or maybe I did that by knocking out every side quest I could find). I felt the story could have used more fleshing out and more of those Blizzard cinematics they've always been known for.

ETA: I played as a lightning mage and just wrecked everything. Probably should have played on a higher difficulty but I'd never played completely through a Diablo game before so didn't know what to expect.

I’m farming Mephisto in T12 with ease. I can clear 130+ pits pretty comfortably

I though the story has been amazing so far. Especially the expansion and base game. Very compelling IMO

The beginning of the game was awesome. I just felt like it never really moved anywhere and nothing got resolved. And it struck me as really unrealistic that 3 grown men would be okay dragging a child around to fight demons, especially given what some of them had been through while fighting said demons.

The story between Lilith and Inarius was interesting, we just didn't get enough of it. Maybe I'd feel differently about that if I had played the other games and dealt with those characters previously.
