Destiny 2: final shape, anyone playing?

Giving it a try based on what I’ve seen. Low expectations.
First time I’ve played since a little bit of witch queen. Figured I’d like to see the ending after spending so much time at the beginning.

I, stupidly, bought it yesterday to no be able to get on at all (they were having serious issues).
I'm underwhelmed by prizmatic or whatever the new class is called. It's early, but I'm not caring about the limited amount of choices that have for my wide range of abilities across all classes.

I don’t play destiny but the scoop is and I think it’s a fairly obvious one is that this launch must be a big success for bungie or Sony takes over and stops their free reign. Is it good?

Haven't bought the expansion yet but was enjoying the past couple months leading up to TFS. Finishing up all those weapon patterns was satisfying.
Managed to log in on day 1 and start the new campaign even with all the serve issues. But replayed the first mission on legendary a day later to find out there were cut scenes I didn't get watch the first time.
Agree that prismatic initially seems underwhelming for warlocks but I will withhold judgement until accessing the full range of abilities one day. Hunters seem to be having fun with near full time invis builds.
For some reason to me TFS gives off vibes of the Taken King back from in the D1 days.

Yep. The story has been fantastic so far and the new setting is great. Legendary solo is no joke.
Haven't gotten into much else of the stuff, but i've loved what i've played of the story so far. Just got to the first mission with the scorn, after doing the strike.

I noticed Destiny 2 or something was just out on PS plus.
Not asking because I’m potentially interested in squading up or anything……………….

I'm on PC but is crossplay/cross save.
The base game is always free to play, but they made the last DLC (before this one) free - Lightfall.
You would still have to pay the 50 bucks for The Final Shape to play the new stuff.

Ahhh. Always a catch. Maybe when the game gets bad enough and it’s fully free to play I’ll see yall on the battlefield. Like that one time I played BF3 with dev and he never spoke to me again.

But if Sony is smart they’d grab the reigns anyway. The story hits as hard as it does because this is the climax of a 10-year story arc. I think to expect this degree of reception to repeat in future expansions is overly optimistic

There was leaks a bit bsck the higher management at bungle is solely focused on keeping the train going only to the day the final sony payouts come which is like 18 months. It’s definitely turbulent times if you’re just a dev there
