I'm sitting at 38 INT with enchanted longsword and tin banishment catalyst.
But I have the crown of dusk and the bellowing dragoncrest ring so I'm doing some major damage with the homimg soul mass and the soul spear...I took out the iron golem in like 3 spells...
I hope it's enough damnit

I did a bit of research into catalysts to use for my strength char in new game+ . just an aspect of the game ive never even considered. didn't even know what MagAdjust was
Anyways TBC has 1.4 MA so with pure int builds it is superior.
If I want to use Dark Sorceries I need to use the Manus Catalyst as it scales off Strength. But I just want a catalyst for Greater Magic Weapon and maybe Crystal Magic Weapon
eta: Tin Banishment Catalyst and Tin Crystallization Catalyst are actually two different ones. I may be confusing the two. depends if you don't mind your casts being halved I suppose
eta2: yeah TCC is better. but you aren't close to getting it yet so disregard for now.

Psa:. The bat demon is still there, he didn't die when I hit him he just warped out.
Planning on going through AL anyway because I want Logan's spells, set, and catalyst and I think he's in the Duke archives which are past this I think

I'm staying away from guides since this is my first playthrough but I did start with a mage guide just to get the best mage setup quickest.
I know Logan is in the Dukes and that's where I get the crystal spells

I like this game because I'm not using a guide at all and you can pretty much just wander around.
BB and DS3 were so linear (BB was better) but DS1 is great in this aspect. I'm just wandering into areas with no remorse.
The only thing though is that not following a guide, I'm certain I'm missing a shite ton of content/quests/ etc. There's lots of orange soapstone messages implying NPCs are supposed to be in some areas and there's just no one there.

What is your build? 4K is purely a DPS race. Make sure you have a way to deal lots of damage and a highly reinforced Estus flask.
You heal between Kings because time spent healing while one up reduces your DPS.
