Yea I kept getting hit by the aoe and when i tried to back up and heal I'd walk into the fire to kill me

I was fulfilling my jolly sunbro duties last night and assisted players with him; one guy bum rushes him out of the gate and immediately gets one-shot. Good times.

I see that the sentinels no longer respawn in Drangleic Castle -- wise decision. Made it through the Dark Chasm of Old; I forgot about it entirely the first time. Have to kill Dark Lurker tonight.

Finally got through Earthen Peak, Iron Keep and Undead Purgatory. Got a few questions:
Whats the point of the Purgatory? Just to join the Brotherhood of Blood. Am I missing something?
Who here figured all by themselves how to drain the poison from the boss fight room with the Baneful Queen? I never would have guessed. Summoned one of my brothers of the Sun and was quickly shown how.
Is the Belfry Sol area on top the Iron Keep just a PVP arena?

I sure as hell didn't. I had heard in the spoilers thread that is was a lot easier if you did drain it, but I tried the boss without doing so...yeah that wasn't going to happen. Ended up googling how to drain it.

I believe so, I joined the covenant and have been summoned quite frequently to protect the bell.

I've been getting invaded in NG+ a lot. There's like a flood of blue sentinels coming from Heide's Tower of Flame now, when I never had one invade in NG.

After playing through ds1 as melee... I think imma do a sorcerer in ds2.
pump dex and int..get a weapon that scales off int. Free the npc that sells the most op spells..I should be good right?

Sorcerer is my 2nd DS2 play through. I've never done one before so it'll be interesting.

I ended up devoting the majority of my points to intelligence and faith.
sorcery, pyromancy, hexes, miracles. I'm into all that shite.
I got my str and dex up to 20 so I could use the moonlight greatsword.

What I'm never sure about is how much should I put in vitality and endurance.
