I just can't figure it out. I don't see any crossbeam. The only ledge I can find I can't roll onto.

There's a video on it.
Take the elevator up, jump off as soon as you can (well before you end up in the parish), from there you walk around the wall to your right. You'll see a broken column that you can roll off the ledge and on to. From there go up the cross beam, and around to the stairs. Follow the stairs until you see the item on the roof. Get that item. Find your way back to the stairs, continue on up to the birds nest.

A) I bought it the day after you recommended it in my rpg thread that time. Played it for a day and convinced Nappy to buy it too

aiming for this pillar just run and roll. be careful not to fall
ta-da
go up stairs on your left. make sure you get the key on this corpse (i think its a key)
go up stairs and get in crow nest

The Gaping Dragon was more like the "Scruffy is gonna do the Raping" Dragon.
He was too easy. Linear attack pattern. No ranged attacks. Kinda disappointed. But I did get 25k souls!
