Took down Nashandra, and now it's off to the DLC! I should be finished well before the 12th,
nice. cool new environments and enemies. Sunken King isnt that cool in terms of environments, but the bosses are good. Sinh is tough
The latter two crowns are awesome environments, but there are 3 or 4 areas/rooms that are truly bullshite. you will know exactly what im talking about when you find them

I started a new dex character on DS1 backwards compatible and picked up the Silver Knight Straight Sword. I think something has changed with it because it seems a lot faster than I remember. I got it to +5 and im kicking arse with it. I wanted the spear but i think ill stick with this one.
Sweet.

Lady Maria down
She was actually extremely easy since she could be countered. She was open season with v attacks

I'm at the Looking Glass Knight on NG+ now, literally only need two spells sold by the merchant in the castle (and only in NG++), so now it'll be a speed run to that point for my platinum. Should even have a little time to play DS before 3's release

i can't wait. some worrying things in the polygon review, though. i tend to side with sterling on a lot of issues, so i'll hope it's as great as he says. love all of the reports about high boss difficulty.

Just FYI, there looks to be a huge spoiler in that examiner review. That's the only one I've looked at
Wish I hadn't seen that

As far as the lack of surprises thing -- from what I know there definitely are some, you just have to dig for them.

I'm hoping I just read it wrong

Big surprise, the game is good. So where does From Software go from here?

Personally, I'm hoping for a sequel to Cookie and Cream.

i do think that they move on from this style though

Sci-Fi + Dying World = Really fricking engaging world building. Instead of blood stains we have hologram recorders. Instead of eldritch beasts, we have dying machines holding onto life. I really love the idea of a world too old to live, yet it still does.

Souls are NANOMACHINES SON, humanity could be cyber implants or something. Enemies are various synthetics, nanotechnology controlled zombies, etc. Weapons primarily melee cause of energy shields. I've always wanted a Sci fi souls type game.

Finally finished MGSV. I want to play Bloodborne but with DS3 about to come out I'm torn. Once I start a game I have to finish it before playing something else and these types of games take me a while to complete. It's hard enough to find the time to game as it is.
What would y'all recommend?

Bloodborne is quick if you skip chalice dungeons. you have plenty of time

Me too.
I'm not playing anything until DS3 comes out

If you want to co-op, I'm picking Bloodborne back up after I finish DS2.

Does it make sense to add faith to my strength build in DS2 with a claymore?

No. Infusions take off all physical scaling.
