Yep. First boss to present a challenge in DS2 for me and my favorite for that reason.

I did a SL1 for Scholar a while back and those two a-hole black phantoms at the beginning were probably the hardest part of the game.

Made it to ludwig tonight, got to fight him 3 times but it's getting late and going back to work after a long weekend is hard enough without being sleep deprived.

I'll figure him out tomorrow: was never able to get him to 50% for the transformation unfortunately then again I found the skeleton that gives 5 viles just before the arena and don't really want to use more than I'm getting as I learn the fight.

I'm gonna be back at it this weekend, starting tonight! Shrine of Amana, Undead Crypt, and Aldia's Keep is my goal for tonight. Dragon Aerie, Dragon's Shrine, the Giant Memories, and Throne of Want tomorrow. Then on Sunday I'll hit up the DLC. It will be my first time.

Is Ludwig considered to be the most unforgiving bloodsouls boss to date? Because I'm having the absolute hardest time ever on him right now.

I'm only level 62 when I should probably be in the 80s for this fight... But I can usually use my skill to get through things, it just feels like this fight might not be the case

Woah, yeah you are way low for that area... 80s minimum I'd say, I prefer to be near 100 if at all possible

Nope.

Level up a bit, try fire paper, beast blood pellets and a serrated weapon - saw/spear cleaver or whirligig. You'll make quick work of him.

whirligig saw will make him a bitch

the 2nd stage is really fun and easier than the first stage. just work that health down and you can finish him once he transitions.

I can actually get to the second stage without taking any damage, I've even gotten his hp down to like 8%... He just basically 1 shots me on everything lol

P.S: this character is my blade of mercy build, so no paper to make it easier unfortunately.

Also, Ludwig is more than possible at your level. I usually go to the DLC right after ROM. +10 weapon helps. Minimum of +8.

Yeah, frick that boss... Also, if anyone needs help on PS4 beating bosses in DS2 hit me up (user there is the same as here), I'm farming for Sunlight medals for my platinum, currently just sitting at the king's gate fire and laying my sign, but willing to help whoever needs it

Took down Nashandra, and now it's off to the DLC! I should be finished well before the 12th, even at my slow pace.

nice. on NG, he gave me the most trouble. I beat al the other DLC bosses on first try. He took me 10 or so

NG+ is a different story Ludwig took me 2 times, Maria and Orphan 1 time, and Laurence was about 20. Such bullshite
