Did you try setting the graphics to HDR mode? That's what I've got mine set to on my PS5 and it looks alright so far but it's early still.

EDIT: I also have film grain and motion blur turned off. That might help.

With the Odyssey my dad got me, I had to turn down the settings to play it on the full 49” while using a 580. Still on high I believe, so still looks good. Wanting to see it on Ultra at that size soon though.

I actually quite enjoy the game. Realizing my PC isn't the best (almost two years old in January), I just decided to turn ray tracing 'Off.' Once I also turned off Film Grain and Motion Blur everything still looked really good and ran well.

Performance has dropped a tad since I got to Night City but it's not unplayable.

What I don't like is the driving at times.. if you end up too far to one side driving trying to straighten up generally results in just swerving back and forth. It's a little too sensitive. Also I am having weird ghosting movements that like I said, affected my ability to be stealthy in the first main mission. I somehow ghosted/teleported to the guy I was trying to sneak up on. It's as if the game thinks I'm pressing the direction key twice (which for fighting causes you to dodge). I can't place my finger on it but hope it's fixed.

Nothing is ruining my enjoyment of the game currently though. I just keep running into side quest after side quest, gigs, etc. and I don't want to rush through the main story. It's pretty overwhelming once you get to NC.

I went Street Kid so I’m in NC to start but it’s locked down to a single area at the start. I only got to play for a few hours and still not quite to the part where it opens up.

Funny bit- my car spawned inside another car, and as soon as I got close it freaked out and ended up upside down. So I ended up running between places for a while (which is easy enough)

I'm running a 34" ultra widescreen monitor (3440x1440) on a Ryzen 5800x, RTX 3090.

No performance issues aside from a rare micro stutter if it has to load an asset.

What I do get the HUD messing up after the game puts black bars on the sides for cut scenes.

Just curious if anyone else has run into this.

Only MAJOR gripe I have so far is some clipping issues. Trying to help NCPD and chasing a crook and he literally ran through 4 different walls

Driving KBM SUCKS so I'm switching between controller and KBM for that. Overall I'm loving it so far.

I've had to quit my game and go back in because a tutorial pop-up message wouldn't go away. When I was first in V's apartment the STASH message would not fricking go away. So annoying.

I might have to do that like I did for GTAV.

Are you not noticing other movement issues? There seem to be weird interactions if you stumble on things in the environment, especially in a building, that might've fallen down. Like in the first main gunfight I was clipping all sorts of shite and ghosting around at times.... it was akin to rubber banding in an online multiplayer game...

Can’t recommend this right now. Game is a technical disaster. I’ll post details when I get to my office

Are you going to refund or what? I have 2.6 hours in the game and I really do enjoy it but the bugs are kind of annoying. Not sure what I should do.. I could possibly get a refund even with 2.6 hours logged and just get the game at a later date and potentially for some % off... but of course we have no idea on timeframe of patch fixes.

Yeah I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on this one. It'll be 40 bucks in 6 months.

I went to crouch a couple times and slid while walking. Other than that no BUT I only have like 3 hours in it right now.

I thought about hooking my controller back up for driving (I do that when I play GTA V as well) so I'll probably do that next time I'm playing.

It kind of made me mad because the first mission after you do the training tutorials (in the car with Jackie), they want you to sneak up on the first guy and I literally ghosted and slid into the mf'er. Then just had to go guns blazing.

not yet, GOG has a 30 day return window so I can monitor it over the next month and see what the timeline looks like

in just a couple of hours last night, I experienced the following (no spoilers):

- constant ghosting and artifacting

- textures loading in late (walk up to a computer or car and they go from big block to detailed)

- assets loading in late (walked up to a car for a quest and the guy inside just spawned inside it lol)

- lots of clipping

- couldnt finish a mission and had to reload. objective was to talk to someone. talked to him and game over and over and game wouldn't register. loaded a save and tried again and it worked

- weird dupe bug. talking to a character who is eating asian food. he brings the chopsticks to his mouth, they duplicate, then the duped pair just floats by his mouth while be brings the original pair to the box. another example, I'm in a car with a guy who smokes a cigar. he has his hand resting on his thigh and smoke is ricing from the cigar. he raises it to smoke and it goes normally, but I can see the original smoke near his thigh as well (as if there's an invisible cigar still there billowing smoke)

technical issues aside, these are my gameplay gripes:

- NPC behavior is embarrassingly basic

- driving is overly sensitive

- combat isn't very responsive, i.e. you will take damage and not notice it. needs to be more apparent

- visuals just aren't as detailed or impressive as I hoped. I'm playing at 4K on a PC with the latest/greatest shite in it and it still doesn't look as good as Demon's Souls or Ghostrunner. Everything is very flat

I feel bad for everyone playing on consoles, apparently it's an abject disaster on there with very few NPCs and all kinds of crazy bugs. It's playable for me right now, but so much of the stuff just breaks immersion. Make sure yall all turn off Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain to get rid of that weird blurry look. Hopefully consoles have those settings

some dude playing on console posted these . Yikes city

I turned off motion blur and film grain, but should I also turn off chromatic aberration? On my PC I am playing in 2K and maxed the FOV out to 100, and turned off ray tracing.

The game is still fun and I managed to sink almost 3 hours into it last night without really even feeling it - i.e., I was still having fun. Ultimately, it's a good game (IMO), but not the groundbreaking experience everyone thought it'd be. A solid 7.5/10 for me right now.

Edit: I was also wondering why the PC defaulted to having aim assist on for shooting and melee... that was odd. There is another setting just under these about the camera being on weapon or on camera? And some other weird camera setting I turned off - apparently having it on saves motion sickness? And I plan to try driving with my controller tonight similar to how I played GTAV on my PC. Maybe that'll make it more fun.

This game is definitely meaty for PC.

Couple of settings I saw that gave big jumps in fps, turn Ambient Occlusion down to low. Screen space reflections quality to low.

I have most things set on High, with some adjustments to some. Running 1080p using i7 9700k and 1080ti. Haven't gotten terribly far, just got to my apartment. Running avounr mid 80's to low 90's in the apt. was usually mid 60's in the missions and riding through the city.

I just used the Medium/High/Ultra selections until I got to a good FPS. Next time I plan on trying out these granular adjustments instead.
