They've lost over $1.4 BILLION with the launch on Cyberpunk, I'm sure that's just peanuts to them
Their market cap decreasing due to the terrible publicity from this isn't the same as losing $1.4 billion cash. Supposedly cyberpunk was profitable just from presales. They'll be alright.

Not to mention the PC version is fine and that's where the main fanbase is anyway. They'll patch the bugs and the sky will stop falling. Obviously nothing takes away a bad launch but that ship sailed when the executives pushed the date against the dev's warnings.

And next gen is fine for me on PS5 too. They’ve already released a few updates since launch. I’m sure the patches planned for spring and the full on PS5 update will send it to new levels.
Think about how wildly popular Witcher 3 is. It was terrible at launch by all accounts.

I never had much issues with Witcher 3 at launch but there definitely were some bugs

Finished the main storyline, I could have days ago but kept wanting to do more side stuff first.
You can pretty much do all the endings in a single playthrough if you want.
Doing certain side things in the games allows for other endings but it's always additive, basically the more stuff you do the more options you'll have to pick from at the end at certain junctures. So there's nothing stopping you from just reloading a save before the final hooray and just making different choices.
The endings all make sense and fit within the theme of the story and world.
For a game that hyped up the romance and sex and nudity so much it's very much lacking in that department, like everything else. For a game with genital customization and where the sex trade plays such a prominent role, you're options to do anything sexual are extremely lacking. So that was either a PR gimmick or just more left on the cutting room floor.
Lots of the RPG elements in the game are just purely up to your personal preference and have no impact on anything. Like you are given the option to kill people or knock them out all throughout your stealth, but there's no consequences either way, so it's completely pointless from a gampelay perspective.
I think in a perfect world all that stuff would have had an impact on the storyline. Like if you're a hug ekiller maybe you earn a reputation for it and people are more afraid of you and you have less diplomatic solutions later, or something like that.
Walking around the city on foot and just looking at everything closely is cool, amazing attention to detail everywhere. I think much like RDR2 the fun of this game will be determined by how much fun you can have wandering around and just experiencing the world.

I'm surprised they didn't include some of the major side quests into the main storyline because it really is some of the most interesting stuff in the game, in terms of being intriguing and fitting the themes.
Alot of the transhuman science fiction stuff in the game is very intriguing because it's definitely something that is theoretical possible one day.
The side quest where you investigate the death of the mayor and the upcoming mayoral race is really good.
There's also tons of easter eggs throughout the game, to famous video games and movies and such. Die Hard and Dirty Harry references today in some cop names.
My favorite so far was two wrecked motorcycles near a train tunnel, a couple of dead black dudes with some nice loot on them there. Note at the scene contains a transcript of their final conversation, it's Smoke telling CJ all he had to do was follow the damn train.

Witcher 3 had bugs at launch, but nothing game breaking or remotely close to Cyberpunk.
Witcher 3 is an all timer (like Ghost of Tsushima), Cyberpunk so far is great, but more on par as a GTA/Fallout clone, nothing special

quote:Seriously. This has nothing on the disaster that was Fallout76.
If Bethesda is still running, CDPR is going to be just fine

Except for long build up to a life changing game that eventually got pulled from the store, you're right.
Not to defend the disaster launch that was 76, but Bethesda stepped out of their comfort zone and dropped the ball. But from what I hear, the game is actually really good now and full of a lot of content. It's what it was supposed to be. Cyberpunk was Red's wheelhouse and this happened. 2 different kinds of games so hard to compare them, but considering the reputation CD Projekt Red had as far as quality, Cyberpunk is the bigger hit IMO.

Is Tsushima that good of a game? I haven't played it yet but this may jump to the top of my list

Started last night on the Xbox One X. So far I haven't had any performance issues outside of a few drops in FPS when I zoom in on something.
Went the corporate route.

It's really, really good.
It's on par (and maybe better and more refined) than Rockstar's open worlds
It's the best game on PS4 and the perfect swan song

As for Cyberpunk, completed all Watson quests and now doing the main one.
Should move out of Watson soon.

Dunkeys video on CP makes a great point I have since noticed myself. The mini-map is so overloaded it's hard to identify the good side stuff from the filler.
Having done nothing but side stuff for the past few days there's some really awesome/interesting/amusing side quests out there that had a lot of effort put into them but they are sorta anonymously mixed in with all the open world filler.
In a perfect world the legit interesting stuff would be flagged different from the filler, a lot of people are probably gonna miss these quests just because they're buried in overwhelming mountain of mini-map icons.

I'm about 30 hours in and still enjoying the hell out of it. I hate how stupid my gear looks though. I'm gearing up according to armor/buffs and right now I'm wearing shite like an astronaut helmet, white puffy boots and some kind of green/purple jumpsuit... it looks tacky asf
That's one of the things I loved about AC odyssey, it let you choose the aesthetics for your armor/weapons. I know it's not realistic or anything but I want to look like a badass damnit!
