Why would you want recruiting easier when you are already unrealistically winning back to backs with Texas Tech?

This is my main issue with the coach progression system.

To get access to the upgraded recruiting skills, you need consecutive top 5 classes. Problem is once you are at a point where you can realistically get Top 5 classes like that, you don't really need those skills or perks.

Same thing with CEO. The stuff you get access to is great, but if you have built a program to a point where you are able to get 2 national titles, you don't really need those perks either.

In other games with RPG elements, the enemies/opposition scale up in difficulty making the obtained skills almost a requirement in order to beat them. In CFB, the opposing teams are not leveling up with you, so these skills ultimately make the game way too easy.

good points.

I will usually build up an LSU, unlock the higher tier coaching abilities, then transfer to a small school to keep things interesting.

After making the previous post, I will say that they did make things more difficult in 26 in recruiting by limiting the ability to increase your number of recruiting hours you can spend on a player in each week. In 25 I could get to 80 points per week for a player fairly quickly with focusing my leveling on recruiting and hiring coordinators who are also leveled up in recruiting.

This would enable me to start getting 5 star commitments within the first 5-6 weeks of a season and then being able to shift focus to the 4 stars. I could have a class of 25+ players all signed before the last few games of the season were played.

now it takes much longer to even get to the point where you can get an additional 5 recruiting hours, and the most I've gotten for one player is +15 (65)...and it's taken forever to get there.

I actually like that they made it harder to recruit. In 25 I’d have so many 5 stars and then spend the back half of the season going after the good 4s and easily end up with the best class. You also never had to switch back and fourth between house and hard sell if just leave it where ever and be done.

The game also adapts much faster this year, in two playoff games I’ve had around 150 passing yards and my jet pass is being shut down every time I call it. It’s now allowing my back to run for 200 yards because the D is so busy covering hard flats.

They definitely upscaled the difficulty in the playoffs too. My usually dead accurate QB couldn't hit anything the first time and the computer was scoring every drive. It took me a few seasons to reach the championship game.

Also, the red Heisman player skills are a cheat code when unlocked. My RB this season has the shifty skill and it's like Bo Jackson Tecmo bowl lol. I barely cut and the defenders whiff so bad.

Yep, I agree...definitely not bitching about it, I think it's great. I routinely got 15+ 5-stars each season last year.

This year I think I managed to get 12 with Notre Dame but it cost me the ability to fill up a class. After transfers I think I went into the next season with only 65 players. To have a full roster you definitely have to make some concessions unless you have turned down the transfer settings.

They've also really tuned the player/team ratings this year. Last year, teams were generally clumped between 75 and 90 with the very best teams being between 90 and 96. This year I've had seasons where multiple teams are 99/99/99 and a lot of teams were below 70. It seems like they worked under the hood to create a bigger discrepancy between teams like how college football really is.

Yea agreed so far in the end of year 3 with Texas Tech after unlocking ceo and program builder I’ve been able to finally get 8 5 star guys and the rest 4s but my class is at 22 which is still my largest pre transfer class.

In 2025 I always had to end up cutting between 5-10 guys, this year I haven’t cut anyone yet because the roster is staying way down.

This year going into conference title games had like 5 undefeated teams. I ended up as the 5 seed despite being undefeated, and winning the big 12.

I’ve noticed once the season ends my ratings drop a good 2-3 points.

What the hell is the trick to recruiting? For gods sake somebody help me

I’ve won 3 natties in a row, a heisman, coach prestige is A+, program prestige is A+, pro potential is A, and I can’t get a class of more than 5 four stars and maybe 1 five star. I’m left scrambling in the transfer portal to get a two deep

I adjust game to game based on players playing style preferences. I usually Send the House for everyone then adjust as players commit to other schools.

Recruiting battles are a lost cause 100% of the time

What’s the trick baws?

It's definitely a lot harder than last season, but if you aren't already hard sale as soon as you get it unlocked and have the green check marks. You can even predict which one to use based on what's already checked/exed out.

Recruiting battle is stupid and I lose damn near most of them. Now if it looks like it probably will end up being a recruiting battle I'll schedule their visit a little later, and even better if the other team scheduled theirs already so you can do it a week before them.

I also recruit almost exclusively players that have my school 1st, unless it's a 5 star that has me in top 5. I load up the 18 I want (gives me 50 points per player weekly) and offer them. Then I add every other recruit that has me #1 on their list and offer immediately. If those don't instant commit in the preseason I remove them and go back to the 18 to start the season. Works pretty good now that my school has similar starts to yours. I've had the #2 class every season (Georgia is insane on this game and finishes first every damn year and if you get in a recruiting battle with them just drop out lol).

What I did when building up was:

Go through my list and if they had other offers start with house, if not throw 10 to them.

Then once I get at least two good pitches I’ll hard sell.

Before I could get 8 guys at a time I’d pick one game to host offense one to host defense

Gotta make sure you have complimentary visitors and not players that will compete for playing time. If you have a corner visiting, a safety or edge is great for a complimentary visit, but you don’t want another corner.

HS class rating isn’t that important this year IMO. With how many quality players hit the portal this year and the fact that there are a lot of elite 3 star players, I’m not as worried about my class ranking as I would usually be.

Definitely think they should up the number of new players you can bring in to 50 next season. We saw several teams - especially those with new staffs - have 40+ new players come in. Need to extend the time for portal recruiting to 6-8 weeks as well.

I believe they are going to 105 scholarships for football next season IRL so having those changes in game will help out a lot.

Been playing CFUT but only solos and challenges and I have to say they have been very generous with their packs and players.

I agree, Bad. While I do play a lot of pvp in CUT, I am no money spent and have pulled probably 10 LTD cards already. Easy to keep a competitive team.

Was there a recent update that wasn't announced? The cpu is running the ball much better my last 2 games. I'm loving that.

I noticed better moves from the CPU in my last game but I still blew out A&M on the road and I’m not that good.

I just wanted to drop in and say that I had a sophomore running back get injured during game, lower back strain. Come to find out, it was a career ending injury (that's what game said) broken vertebrae. I didn't know football games had career ending injuries in the game. Crazy!
