Also, the company that sells it also sells just the sd card loaded with retropie and the games for like 60 dollars

I'm curious how they are able to sell these considering this stuff is surely still copyrighted in many instances. Surprised they get sold on Amazon, tbh.

You can download a variety of images and flash them onto an SD drive of your preferred size. It's all very easy and you don't have to hunt down every ROM/emulator out there or anything. There are a ton of ready-made images that have everything set-up and ready to go (check out "Arcade punks"). I've made several of my own just to see how things perform and see how other people set things up. I've got more games than I know what to do with.

Here is their website, Crisp Concept

Some other options and it appears cheaper on there. Found this after I ordered.

Not really sure how they get away with it. I've done more research now and watched a setup video, alot easier than I originally thought.

But for the price I still think its a fair deal, especially for anyone not tech savy.

If I had to do over I might have just set up myself, but it's already ordered.

Only thing I would have probably done different is a different case and controller.

I built a Pi 3 a while back and while it was neat, I spent more time getting it setup than actually playing on it.

I think the power of a Pi 4 makes this a more fun option to use often.

I can run everything up through PS1/N64 era stuff on my Pi3b, with the caveat that a select few N64 games do not emulate well at all on there. That might have improved with the Pi 4. For SNES/Genesis gaming and the like, the Pi is great.

Yeah, I definitely don't think you got ripped off or anything. I'm kinda curious what sort of set-up and game collection they give you. Hope it's a good one!

If not, you can always reflash with another image. There are a ton of set-ups out there.

I dont think it's going to have a lot of N64 and PS1, etc games on it. Only a handful I believe.

I've looked more into it and seems like there are a good bit of both of those that do run well on it even without overclocking.

So I can see myself buying another SD card and flashing it with mainly N64 and PS1 stuff. Maybe try some dreamcast.

Amazon has a metric frickton of bootleg stuff being sold on it. Bezos doesn't give a shite. He just wants your money.

ive done testing and IMO you cant really tell much improvement on N64 w/ pi4 overclocked or not. not worth it IMO to potentially melt your pi

having said that i'm deliriously happy with my pi4 and enjoy tinkering with it.

I'd be buried in thst sucker for years on the RPG games

Off the top of my head:

Secret of Mana
Illusions of Gaia
Any Ogre Battle
Any Final Fantasy
Crusader Of Centy
Soulblazer
Any Zelda game
DragonQuest
Final Fantasy
CronoTrigger

7th Saga was a great under-the-radar RPG title.

Don't forget Breath of Fire series, too.

Yeah, I dont plan on overclocking it at all.

Since the image that comes with it only has a handful of ps1 and n64 games I think I will end up getting another SD card that I'll load with those games I like and work well.

I checked yours out a lot, bit underneath it was a link to an editors choice ..it was a pi3b with two controllers and a case with a 32gb sd card that had retor pie already installed. And it comes with a usb stick to upload roms from pc to the console. For that plus tax it was 80$..pulled the trigger, supposed to arrive tommorow.

Up to game cube, not including.

It handles a good bit of N64 games, most PS1 games.

Amazon allows chinese companies to sell knock offs, and flat out fakes on their site. And ur wondering they might care about copyrighted games. LOL

What sports games from the NES are on it?

Please tell me Baseball Simulator 1.000 and the Bases Loaded series.

I'll buy it right now.

Yeah, they are both on there. I'm pretty sure every NES game every made is on here. Plus hacks, homebrew nes-europe, nes classic, etc.

3697 NES games. If you played it, its gonna be on here.

How does it look on a flat screen TV?

We hooked up my old NES before I sold it and my wife said she was the GOAT at Duck Hunt. We fired it up and she couldn't hit shite.

I tried and I also couldn't hit shite.

Come to find out, the sensor in the gun doesn't work with newer televisions.

It looks ok. It is a bit pixelated cause of the size of the tv. The games werent meant to be played on 50+ inch screens.

I thought about looking into the settings to see if I could display it on the screen in more like a 30 inch size.

The resolution settings may be set low so some of the N64 games run smoother too, I havent dove into that. But plan to sometime this weekend.
