All the DE was in the storage. I was bummed I couldn't get to it. I saw one million elixir and threw a Giant down quick. I had to adjust fire as I attacked. I didn't even realize his TH was outside the walls until I maxed out the elixir.

put your TH on the outside of your base and drop trophies to 1200-1300 range.
trophy hunters will hit you for a one star and 2-3k, but you'll be fine.

Try and time your trip with some of the longer upgrades. The day before you leave spend all of your loot on 6-8 day upgrades.
