Yeah, I just checked and saw nothing below 80 so far. Obviously a lot of consistent praise. I’m getting more and more excited about the plot.

That is my major draw.

I can put up with a less than stellar gameplay system if the story is phenomenal.

Then again, I can also put up with a less than stellar story if the gameplay is good. I did play FF13 after all.

It's a strange, specific collection of emotions no game has captured since Nier: Automata, combined with the unease and otherworldly dread of a New Weird novel like Jeff VanderMeer's Annihilation.

I can only get so hard.

Big same.

Two things make a linear formula work. A story that makes you want to keep pushing through to each beat(FFX) or a combat system with a world that’s pretty enough to carry the weight (FF13).

Same. I need to actually get some work done.

Putting off trying to set up a scan to email on a printer and it’s giving me trouble.

Maybe SQE will get the message and make FF17 turn based. Not that I dont like the combat of the ff7 remake trilogy, and ff16 to a lesser degree, but I would like to see FF go back to its roots.

Won't happen. The current leadership refuses to see the evidence that turn based has a market.

I was able to finish the prologue before starting my workday and damn. The world is extremely interesting and the opening 90 minutes or so is great. Great music, emotional, I can’t wait until 4 when I get off work to play more.

Man I still suck at the button timing from the Legend of Dragoon days. Took me like 5 tries to beat that mime at the beginning. Going to stick with expert for now, we’ll see

On Expert as well, played some of the prologue last night since I was up late testing gear for an event shoot this evening.

Music is amazing and the combat system is going to be addictive, I can already see it. Mime got me on my first try but I rolled him on the second attempt after getting his second combo's timing down. Stopped after beating him.

Make sure yall thoroughly explore the Prologue area, I found a ton of shite from searching and talking to people. Make sure you get the key too, I couldn't find anything to use it on but I'm sure it comes up later

CEO said he isnt shy about his love for the FF 8,9, and X era. Hopefully I can put this game into that category.

quote:

Meurisse said that Broche "was playing FromSoftware games at the time of development, and Sekiro in particular. He felt like, 'Oh yeah, what if I can get the feeling of the party in Sekiro, but into a turn-based game.'

Finally a CEO with common sense.

Been hyping the game up to my wife the past couple of days after she had no idea about it. Im at work and the beyotch send me a text with the title screen. Followed by a short video of the intro scene.....

Probable wont be able to get into the action until 8 or 9 pm. FML

X will always be my favorite.

This will likely get me crucified, but VIII was a better experience than VII for me. I played both for the first time as an adult on PS3, so no nostalgia or blinders. VIII's story was so whacky and fun and all over the place, and that gave it a certain charm. Its world was way more fun to explore than VII's too.

The story is so ridiculous lol, it starts relatively straight with military school and an assassination mission and then by the end there are space sorceresses and monsters descending from the moon and giant invisible cities and time compression. It's absurd
