re: Call of Duty WWII: Official Thread (updated)
I don’t play COD as much as I used to, but I got this one. They make multiplayer way more complicated than it once was. I get lost in all of the supply drops, divisions, payrolls, headquarters, etc.

Anyone have any pointers for a noob?

It's not much different. Do the orders and build your classes the way you like to play

Great. More guys camping in corners, hiding behind obstacles and shooting you in the back as you run by, I think my new years resolution will be to give this one up and hope treyarch makes a better one next year. Cant say i didnt try . i got 3 plus days playing this . Most of my friends that i play multiplayer games didnt last more than a day.

Surprising. This is honestly my favorite COD since MW2. Are there some aspects that I don't like about it? Sure. Sniping being the main one. But we can find something to b---- about in every game. I play a lot of HC S&D mostly, so the camping aspect probably doesn't bother me as much as people who play TDM, KC, etc. I'm just ready for some new maps to come out. And by the looks of the trailer they look like they will be pretty decent.

re: Call of Duty WWII: Official Thread (updated)
Ive always been a core TDM guy. This is the first boots on the ground game that has frustrated me. That is all i played until this game. Now i play hardcore a lot because it only takes a few shots, compared to core where it takes a clip, to kill someone who is camping plus there's hardly any of the quick scoping mess. Its funny how much easier it is for me to run and gun on hardcore compared to core TDM. Id love to see their faces when i swing around the corner and shoot them lying on the ground or in a corner. Probably have double the kill ratio on hardcore compared to core.
To me the 3 worst maps are: Carentan, library map and the Gustav Cannon map. What do these all have in common? Camping I'm a run and gun guy.
I'm hoping the map packs have more open maps but as of now i'm pretty much burned out on this one and all those crates. Watched a guy open like 50 supply drops on youtube. He paid like 100 bucks and he got like 1000 grips , 30 different uniforms and 1 good gun.

Just saw their adding a whooping 3 maps with the map pack release. They look like what they have now. I think im done with this turd.

camping in corners

i don't like to camp corners, per se. more like windows, hallways.. somewhere with a sightline. always have a mine behind me somewhere protecting one of my flanks. with expeditionary you can pick up an extra mine for each kill. i really get rolling when i have 2 mines out and i can really hard camp a window in one of my honey-holes. unfortunately they limit you to only 2 mines out at a time

hiding behind obstacles

should they stand out in the open so you have a better shot?

shooting you in the back as you run by,

i love doing this

I guess what some call camping i consider "letting the game come to me". try to make each confrontation on my own terms. full disclosure my aim kinda sucks so i always try to put myself at the advantage.

i do go sometimes upwards of a minute with no action... gets kinda boring just camping waiting... but then i'll run off 4-5 kills in a 15sec stretch where everyone's trying to get it me. i just had one upstairs in the post office of Sainte Marie... 1 guy coming in the back, another up stairs both hit my mines while i shot 2 in the street. 4 kills in like 3 sec. time .. i was pumped

Looks like we got us some campers up in here!

I have often thought about a campers mindset. Sitting there waiting for something to happen. Just imagine a game of everyone sitting in a room or a corner and no one running. What a glorious game it would be It's ok. it makes it that much more fun when i can get behind you guys for the kill I dont mind people camping . i have dealt with that in many call of duties but these maps give campers way to many obstacles to hide behind and horrible hit detection to kill them. That and the quickscoping make this game frustrating. looks like the 3 new maps coming up will be more of the same people hiding and head glitching behind obstacles You guys must really be enjoying this WW2 game. Cant believe they are only adding 3 multiplayer maps in the next few weeks. Sledgehammer has definetly lowered the bar. I complain but i still play it. just hoping somehow i'm gonna get better and actually i have improved. Id say an average TDM game for me now is 17-9 which is pretty good running around on these maps and the terrible kill streaks.

Holy sh--!! I didn't realize expeditionary let you do that. Probably the least played division of mine so far. Going to have to change that. I've spent majority of the time with Mountain, couple thousand point from having it fully maxed out. That's the only one I'm maxing out. All the others I'm just trying to gradually get to level 4 and then stopping, no prestige. What level is the "extra mine" in expeditionary?

Also adding a new "War" mode map/game. Looks pretty good. But if you don't play War ever, it does you no good I know. Lol.

Think its level 4 exp. Def. worth grinding for.. probably only take a couple of hours.

You can refill any lethal equipment. When you kill someone they will drop a red pouch.. just run over it and it'll replenish.

Think exp. also always you to throw grenades further/while running too.. although im not a big nade guy

I love them

Anyone play on PC?

I mostly run the objective based game mode but wouldn't mind playing some of the others with teammates from TD.

Been trying to grind for the GPMG but looks like it's a lost cause. Not enough time to farm enough armory credits to buy it and there's no way you'll get lucky enough to get it in a drop or a bribe

I’m enjoying gridiron. I die a thousand times per match when playing it, but it’s a nice change up to play occasionally when you get worn down with the tradional game modes.

Im quitting this game. SHG hasnt communicated or fixed any issues the community has asked for in 2 months. I'm still spectating at the beginning of matches for christ sake. It's clear Condrey is a liar (sbmm) and doesnt understand the meta of his game(spawns, drop shots, aim assist, quickscoping, shotguns, map design, etc).

I could bring up so many examples, but one simple one. The daily challenges do not encourage quality play by the community. 10 launcher kills or getting a positive KD in a Hardpoint match for example, you may as well encourage griefing out right.

Contrast that with Battlefield 1 who only give challenges that encourage team play and class play.

Everything about this game is thrown together with no forethought or care. The setting of WW2 has sooo many awesome opportunities to add small details to the game. Look at what BF1 does with the snippets of history of every weapon, location, historic dates, etc.

I've been in the industry now for almost 9 years, I know a piece of shite when I see one, and I know how they're made. In the executive meeting rooms. SHG is out of talent and full of yes men.

This is my first COD since Modern Warefare 3. The maps are complicated at shite and I'm getting multiple hit markers on hardcore with AR's.

Has me thinking giving up on FPS multiplayer was the right call.

ETA: The U.S.S Texas is the worst map I've ever played. Having only two spawn points that are both easily spawn trapped is ridiculous. You can really apply this to all the maps. Are there only 4 spawn points per map? It certainly seems so.

Haven't played in weeks. All my shooter time is spent now between r6s and ghost recon MP when I want to play tactical type. And battlefi1 when I just wanna frick around and run n gun.

This game was a trash fire and I had such high hopes
