those were simpler times.

Storming Stalingrad in orginal COD was F'ing awesome. I'd pay hand over fist for a remaster of the first 2 cods.

Battlefield has real chance to deal a kill shot

That beta turned a lot of people off of COD

Classic example of chasing short term profits vs long term damage to the brand.

Adding these stupid wacky skins is a cheap and easy way to squeeze "free" money out of people who buy this stuff, however the lost sales and fans of people who hate this shite is way more damaging.

It does.

And personally, I don’t want to see CoD die. I’ve got plenty of great memories of late-night sessions with the bros, and I still love the competitive military arcade FPS genre. Competition is good.

The problem is CoD has ignored its core player base for over a decade. Every release is just a copy-paste job. No innovation, only borrowing from whatever other games are trending. On top of that, they keep shoving in features nobody asked for while stripping out (or paywalling) popular features from older titles, only to “reintroduce” them later as shiny new Season # content. Ohh thanks for adding Demolition in Season 4….a game type that has only been a staple of the COD franchise since the original MW2.

Ohh wow, another freshly skinned map you originally gave us during BO1? How thoughtful.

Add to that: Over-the-top SBMM that makes every match sweaty, increased movement nonsense, and shameless monetization that is a blatant cash grab.

…and you’ve got loyal players walking away disgusted, putting their money into studios actually trying to make the arcade FPS experience people want. I feel half the hype behind Battlfield 6 is disgruntled COD players dying for the classic military arcade FPS they originally fell in love with.

Currently, Activision is in full panic mode. BO7 is getting absolutely ratioed on YouTube, and with launch weeks away, they’re scrambling to reverse course. Almost guaranteeing an even messier final product. You can see it in the trailer. Single player with wall running, wing suits, and super hero abilities…..but wait wait, in Multiplayer it’s toned down. Convenient.

BO7 is shaping up to be an abomination, maybe the worst CoD yet. The question is: will it finally wake Activision up? We’ll see….I have my doubts.

I would pay top dollar for a complete remaster/rebuild of COD I and 2. Those games with modern graphics would rock.

IMO they hit it out of the park with MW 2019. It was gritty and back to the basics modern take on COD. They’ve shite the bed since then.
