for those interested in the storyline of the campaign, Infinity Ward released a narrative recap trailer of MW1-MW3 in preparation of MW4.

Is regular MP still a big draw for these games or is it all Warzone now? I'm sure people still do MM but curious how popular it is in the age of battle royale.

That’s sort of the big debate surrounding COD now.
One side wants traditional multiplayer to remain the heart of the game. The other wants everything centered around Warzone, and streamers generally seem to favor BR. COD and Warzone were enormously successful during COVID, and Activision has seemingly been chasing that high ever since, often at the expense of regular multiplayer.
The problem is that BRs don’t appear to have the same staying power they once did. So when you release a rushed, iterative, watered-down version of both every year, neither audience is happy. Multiplayer fans feel ignored, Warzone fans get bored, cheaters infest the game, and the overall game ends up disappointing everyone. And with GTAVI around the corner, this one is going to be another dud as well.

I believe there’s a small extraction community from DMZ/MW2.
Since they’ve revamped that, I’m sure there’ll be interest in it for awhile.

I see they announced a skins filter for Warzone and made it to where Double XP tokens only count when you’re in an actual game, not the 4 minutes you’re in a matchmaking lobby.
That’s good, positive changes. But if we’re honest it’s only because pre-order numbers are well below expectations, the BETA died off with the quickness, and GTAVI is going to obliterate their player count. Desperate moves to make it seem like they are listening to the community (despite simple changes taking 4-5 years to implement)
And they still aren’t even addressing the 2 elephants in the room: cheaters and SBMM. Until that is resolved, COD will continue to die a slow death.

that’s a start, doesn’t address the rest of the cheating issues and definitely doesn’t address SBMM.

DMZ comes out early if you preorder (October 20 in lieu of the 23)

I think with Battlefield 6 now available on Gamepass/EA Play it will hurt sales even more than anticipated. I don't think they can recapture the magic of the early MW titles.

who's playing DMZ tonight?

Hey, fam. Klark nails it here.
For me, I’m not getting MW4. I don’t even play BF6. I’m really fatigued on big AAA games that try to get money out of you at every turn.
Nowadays I spend my gaming time on Arma Reforger playing modded servers. It’s probably the absolute best experience for what I want out of a shooter.
Just FYI, Squad is doing an alpha playtest on PS5 currently and is coming to consoles in 2027. I’ll be in on that, too. Arma 4 also comes out in 2027.
As for CoD, I did try the beta for MW4. It just felt like every other CoD game I tried, bought and ultimately swore off so I decided to just not buy.
Hope everyone on this board is doing well. Long live games!
