To some of those interested in new types of games might want to check this out:

Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia

On Kickstarter. Very interesting worker placement game, neat mechanics from an up and coming designer (with one successful KS already done).

Cool concept, indie developer, nice goals to reach for the campaign. What's not to like?

Wow... my eyes just glaze over looking at that. My brain hurts.

Ha. Looks too complex?

You can actually print and play as well, apparently it's a very smooth game.

Looks ridiculously complex. But even though I'm always extremely reluctant to start playing something so involved, I always get sucked in once I learn it.

Most recent rules, really not too bad:

A little fiddly and a lot of icons for sure, but it plays out like other Worker Placement games. You only have two choices on a turn, place a worker or remove a worker.

The theme and art are super nice. Some good bits of humor in there too. And dystopias, everyone loves those!

Reported playtime, once understood, is apparently 60 minutes, which means it can't be too bad.

Board games also remind me I don't have any IRL friends.

Eh some people don't realize that there are games outside of Monopoly and Apples to Apples, etc. Board games are entertaining for anyone, just have to find the right game.

Is this game euphoric because of some phony god's blessing or because it is enlightened by its own intelligence?

I like the setup of this game, but the "steampunk dice" bullet made me cringe. Reminds me of this:

Not Remotely Steampunk

I also chuckled a bit the first time he said "Euphorians" in the trailer.
