Hopefully there's a way on consoles to say that you need ammo or health if you can't speak to them. Those bastards would never throw me anything.

It's an optional install on the second disc of the 360 and on the PS3 bluray (there, Lew). You download it to your hard drive to help stream better textures so the game looks purdy.
