We'll see. That was what I hated about BC2. Took forever to drop someone, especially when first starting off. I liked how the beta performed, so hopefully it isn't tweeked to much.

Not sure...you're playing on pc, we're console guys.

Settings--in game pause menu.
Spot enemies--press Select button on PS3, back button on 360 or Q on PC.
Fire modes--down on the dpad. You can turn your flashlight or laser sight off by pressing up on the dpad.

Haha. Ok. I forgot that people are on different platforms.
Do you know what we PC guys had to go through to get the game to play?
1) Download Origin gaming engine.
2) Download the game in Origin.
3) Get plug-in for internet browser.
4) Update video drivers.
And we play the game in a browser window

I've tried the PC-equivalent variations of this, and it doesn't work. Q doesn't work for spotting like in BF2.

Yeah, I heard it was quite the chore. A lot of the pc crowd was very unhappy, so much that they're supposed to change everything back to the way it was in BF2.

Do you think Origin was made to meld the different console game systems and PC to have all the players share servers or friends be able to play together if they have different systems?
Am I playing with console gamers when I play now?

Yes it does.
I spot things all the time. And V changes firing mode. F knifes. K talks to all.. dunno the button for team chat.

quote:I read that too, but it was convoluted. I really couldn't tell if he was saying it took more rounds to get a kill or if he was complaining that's how it was in the beta and now that's been tweaked so that bullets each inflict more damage (ie, taking more damage).
I think somewhere in there he mentions how it's harder to drop someone in the final version than it was in the beta.

So is there a spotting menu? I've done it before and nothing seemed to happen.
Sweet. I'll use V more. Do you know how to get to the game settings menu? I got there once by pressing all sorts of different keys.
Thanks for the quick keys, Hulk.

Nah. When you see an enemy, hit Q, should mark em automatically. I think they have to be within a certain distance, though.
To get to the game settings menu, hit Esc and find the settings. Keyboard hotkeys are listed under "keyboard shortcuts" or something like that

I swear I've done Q before and nothing happened. There's no prompt saying that I spotted anyone. And no enemy blip on the mini-map.
I have tried esc so many times. Maybe I just need to reinstall.

It should just pop a little icon over their head. A triangle for infantry, tank for tank, jeep for small vehicles, helo for helo, and jet for jet. Check your hotkeys, it may be unbound for some reason.

Well I just tried to login and the Beta is over and done with it says. So I can't play unless I get the game.
Oh well.
ETA: Don't know if I'm sold...

There were some serious graphics issues in the Beta that I hope are addressed in the day one patch.
I randomly got my screen flipped sideways and I was running around looking at everything tilted. Then when I respawned, I was stuck in place and couldnt move.
Can't wait though, this game will kick arse!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but graphics aren't usually something that a patch addresses. I'd imagine it will be something like squad mechanics, kit setups and whatnot.
I could be wrong, but I'm guessing all of the graphical issues will be pretty much settled when the final version ships. Again, I think I read where someone played the final version and none of the beta glitches showed up.

The map will also feature based jumping on the Rush game mode, where attackers base jump into the first area of attack.
