I think they're releasing more MP info on 10/14. Nothing like more vids and articles to keep us foaming at the mouth.

Did you watch the video I posted in the new PS3 thread?

Damn.....it loads up and when I click on Multi, it shows that the connection to the EA Servers was lost. Oh well...guess that's it then.
Back to Gears.

We can try it, but last time I played the connections were awful... couldnt do shite, yo

Yeah. I like what I'm seeing with the maps. There's a nice mix of open spaces and close quarters. It looks like there's always a route to flank or a way to counter.

I was hoping for more industrial or city type maps as opposed to the flat open ones or towny maps in BC2. Looks like they're delivering.
But what I was really looking for was graphical upgrade and I think they've done it. Killcams look nice, no popin, it looks pretty smooth.

Yeah, it really does look good. They've done a great job with the visuals and audio...especially the numerous f-bombs in the MP.

OK. I'm going to say it. People got too good way too fast in this game.
The last BF installment and last military team-based FPS was BF2. So I am bred for an entirely different type of gaming and feel that this disadvantage weighs heavily on my ability to do well in BF3.
I had early success because I played the game early on and people were "catching up" to me. Now they have far surpassed me. My most successful rounds come from me playing smart, like a soldier would in real life. Taking cover. Lying prone. Pushing when it's safe. Defending when it's necessary. All the other players have seemed to master this ability where I can only do 1 or two at a time per life. I feel that people coming from gaming platforms like COD or Medal of Honor and BF:BC(2) are having a smoother transition into this game.
I am just stuck at the same level of play. I've peaked. I went back last night and played BF2 and fought in the sprawling cities and landscapes like Strike at Karkand and Dajing Oilfields, and it just felt...good.
BF3 isn't fun for me any more.
What can I do to better my experience/play in BF3?

Not suck!
Find your niche and stick with it. Be happy with being able to support your squad/team.
I'm sure being with a good squad and communicating will help. Unfortunately, that was mostly absent from the beta.

Kills aren't everything, either. I like finding a chokepoint where most of my team is and throwing out medpacks or ammo boxes and watching the points go up.
Also, I just found out I could spot people by pressing select.

I thought you spotted enemies by keeping them in your sight for a few seconds.
I've gotten the spot bonus without ever pressing select.

Oh, I did a Google search and that's what I got.

That article AJF posted earlier with the guy griping how he couldn't fly the jets....I think somewhere in there he mentions how it's harder to drop someone in the final version than it was in the beta.
Might have been another article I read somewhere, but I swear, I read it.

I heard that in one of the IGN vids, too. I'm not sure I like that.

Thanks Devious and AJF.
I am trying. I got the defrib. paddles and have been using them to help my team. If I can't kill I've started just helping and watching our backs from sneak attacks. It's been semi-successful. I get my most kills and play the best soldier in tight squeezes such as the locker rooms, but I do it at the cost of my own life. I'll sacrifice my death for 3 of theirs.
Couple of questions:
-How do you get to the settings menu? I only got there once and it wasn't by the esc key. I want to increase my mouse sensitivity.
-How do you spot enemies? How do you press "select"?
-How do you switch from auto to multi-burst? Or a different way to fire your weapon?
