OK. I know I griped a bit about the beta, but I bought and installed the game today...and my first map I got 1 kill and 6 deaths and am < 100 points away from not being a recruit!

Yeah. I saw you post a few times other places, and I was tempted to ask you for your tag. For some reason, Pectus stood out to me. I think I saw that name in New Vegas

Once you unlock some stuff, it will get easier. It's especially rough going if you are used to COD.

Let's be realistic. Nobody holds a candle to my skillzorz in BF3 (PS3). I am the shite! Regardless of my level. I pwn with the best of them

this is definitely the most fun I have ever had with a FPS.
I still have no clue how to tag anything when I get named squad leader, I just talk through my mic, like get that damned tank NOW! Of course, usually I get teamed with tards who either never heal if they are assault, never repair or shoot tanks if they are engineers, never set spawn points if they are recon, or never supply ammo.
Oh, and can you not launch stingers if they aren't locked on? So I can't use them as ground to ground missiles?

If you are looking down your scope at a tank, press select (PS3) back (360) and it will highlight the enemy infantry, land/air vehicle.

Use the Javelin if you want a good ground to ground.

Prone position and cover are your friend. With a K/D like that you must be running around a lot. I recommend sticking to the edges of the maps while you're first getting started. This can be a rewarding game if you stick with it.
