Download finally finished sometime yesterday. I spent the day getting through the initial meeting at the Druid area. So much dialogue there.
On my way to go find stuff. Hope everyone else has made good progress.
I still need to get Wyll.

I just got Karlach.
There is a metric frickton of quests. I keep getting more and more quests just by trying to do the ones I already have.
One complaint: there is definitely some wokeness here. I could overlook the genitals swapping thing since you have to actively set that, but a male player can't simply be agreeable with either Gale nor Astarion (the only males to have been in my party thus far) without them eventually wanting to dry hump your leg.

I haven't played the game, but just from reading your post, that doesn't really sound "woke" to me. Getting "ninjamanced" has been a thing in RPGs for a very long time, both for heterosexual and homosexual choices. It's basically a game design decision: devs know players get pissy if they "miss" potential content, so they signpost the hell out of it.
In Mass Effect 1, I strategically get certain NPCs killed, depending on playthrough, to avoid the issue

I sent astarion and gale to the bench each playthrough so far
Just don’t need or want a rogue or a mage in my party, but I can do without that gay vampire shite was well
I wonder if that talkative ogre in the blighted village can be recruited. I’d accept him.

Mage is useful for AoE; if your PC doesn’t have access to those then it can be kinda rough to get it added.
Rogue is way easier to bypass by simply having a good Dex and proficiency in sleight of hand.

Rogues are pretty needed for picking locks and disarming traps in dungeons. In the open world, probably not so much.
Having some magic though... you're not living until you've stacked at least a couple of Cloud of Dagger spells on top of each other. I stacked three and started calling it "Dagger-nado", just waiting for ScyFy to pick up the rights.

Currently playing Al Bundy in the Underdark.
There is a lot more danger down there than on the surface world. Save often. I've already had to reload the game multiple times due to coming at the bulette fight from the wrong direction. Even some of the plants have to be attacked (from a distance).

Still stuck in Grymforge. Nere is dead but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to move the story forward (the only options I have here still are trying to stop a fire trap on a walkway, except that it's blowing fire through a closed/locked gate and taking the elevator up - even though the game warns me that area is too tough for my level). About to head back to the surface to clear out the spider cave and hope it gives me enough exp to get to level 5.

i didn't have much time to play this weekend so i am still lvl 3 and noobing around in the wilderness. Found Auntie Ethel's area, but then failed an Animal Handling dice roll on a white frog, who proceeded to poison nuke my party, ending my session with a laugh.
gonna keep Gale in the composition this time (for the time being) and utilize Magic Missile and Grease.
i did find the X rated scene in blighted village. That door was locked in Early Access!
Guessing most of you all are lvl 4 or level 5 by this point?

Spoilers incoming...
I hit level 5 last night. I have taken out 2 of the Goblin leaders, the 3rd is a bit tough due to all the help around him. I might be able to play with some spell usage in order to make my odds better, but then again I may just find other things to get exp from until I hit level 6 then give it another go.
I tried a couple of throw-away fights, in one I positioned myself by the treasure room and started everything off by picking the lock to the door. That triggered the two drow guards so I killed them. After that I locked myself in the treasure room and tried to map out, but they have locked out the ability to use the map to teleport away while in combat.

I did manage to loot it before loading from my last save, all I can say is that one day I will loot that room.
I've talked my way out of having to fight the gith, so that path is open to me but the wording of trying to go up the mountain path seems to indicate that going there will make all of your current quests incompletable.
The only other routes I have are trying to go up the elevator in Grymforge or trying to quickly/quietly take out the Zhent guards in front of what I believe is Halsin's cell.
Also, when you kill other "True Souls" (or just discover their corpse, as in the case of Nere), you can "absorb" their tadpoles to give you access to psychic abilities.

having a blast with the game so far.
playing and eldrich fighter dragon born.
just out of curiosity. how exactly does multiplayer work in this game? it seems like it would be difficult with all the dialogue stuff.

2 guys playing co-op (live, as I post this) They are in the very first cut-scene, still on the nautiloid.
EDIT: When a cinematic comes from clicking on something, the other players are locked into the cinematic watching the click-er doing whatever (and then making rolls/choices). No idea yet on what happens if the cinematic comes from entering an area or if the players are far from one another.
EDIT 2: If you don't free Shadowheart from the ship, you end up meeting her at the ruins near where the ship crashes (because the two dudes didn't go back and save her). I wondered what would happen since she's integral to the story.

I back tracked a bit to get to 7 because the raid on moonrise has made me it’s bitch.

Once you move into that next phase/chapter, can you go back to the intro area (druid grove, blighted village, etc)?
