No, you simply disagree with his political views. It's rather apparent.

Felt I was clear on that, maybe not.
It wasn't clear. It is now.

My point is I believe Twitch would handle the situations differently, which is why I believe it's certainly a freedom of speech issue. When one position is amplified and another is suppressed, especially by an organization, we have a problem.

Do you believe that's a problem, or is it okay for an organization to suppress one opinion while amplifying another?

I don't agree with them, but like I said, from what I've seen over the years, prior to his recent activities, he's not someone I would watch on a regular basis.

He's got a video up on his Youtube channel:

I think if you get into that, you're no longer "fair and balanced", you've taken a side, and you have to deal with it. It's essentially Fox News. Everyone knows who they are and what they choose to promote, and it causes people to completely avoid them, including me.

So I guess short answer, I see that as a problem, but I also do recognize a distinction between just saying stuff people don't agree with vs harmful hate speech that could legitimately affect people's lives. That dumb "Hatians are eating your household pets" nonsense that a grown adult actually said on national television that made a lot of innocent people's lives very difficult. That shite should have consequences. I think that's a far cry from, say, i'm pro-life vs pro-choice.

Both of those statements could be potentially harmful, especially with someone with a big following, so I'd support action against both.

He is one of the the few that just calls it like he sees it and doesn't care about being cancelled. Money doesn't mean anything to him. He just wants to be able to play videogames all day and he does have plenty for that.

I don't enjoy the games he plays or his drama videos but there are times I'll put him on in the background while I'm doing something else.

You are the one saying speech and news should have consequences. It goes against everything America stands for. You just seem ignorant. I don't forgive you. You should probably open a history textbook.

I'm saying false speech that could cause harm to someone should have consequences. You know, like a libel lawsuit.

Are those communist?

Libel does exist. What do you want changed about it?

Who in your new world on consequences decides on what is "truth" and what is "harmful"?

What should those consequences be and who should decide what they are?

I’m sorry, at what point in American history did speech not have potential private consequences?

Well, he wasn't wrong.

Anyway, it's a suspension, not a ban.

I think you missed part of the thread. Sicoby was saying news stations should have consequences for what he/she/they/them determines is harmful speech.

Twitch/Amazon has the right to ban whomever they want.

People being taken to task about it would be nice. There seems to be an entire political party that likes to throw bull shite around without any consequences. Big example is election workers who were under threat and recently FEMA workers being threatened by an armed man.

It's common sense to most people.

-Election wasn't rigged (how many court rulings does it take to convince people?)

-Hatians aren't eating your pets (the person who started it even came out and said it was BS)

-FEMA is actually on the ground helping people

You are doing exactly what you are accusing the other side of doing. The irony is hilarious.

It is "common sense" to your political circle. Your echo chamber. Free speech protects all echo chambers and is blind to left or right. When government gets involved, it becomes totalitarian always. You just are very ignorant of history.

Again, you need to open a history textbook. The education system failed you.

Is Palestinian or Gazan a race now?

I think he should have worded it differently, but the people there overwhelmingly support Hamas. Its not inaccurate to say that they are part of the problem.

Its not. Twitch isn't our government and has no need to protect any speech. They are a private company whose goal is to make money. they have no obligations to anyone regarding this matter and can promote/suppress speech/language in any way they so choose.

you have the right to choose not to support twitch by not giving them of any of your hard earned money. I don't, because i don't like them and their practices.

I like asmongold well enough, watch his videos from time to time. I didnt 100 % agree with his thoughts that got him banned (didnt 100% disagree) but i think he got what he deserved. He said something twitch did not want to support, and paid fair consequences. You are free to say what you want, you arent free to dictate how others outside of the government react to that.

i do hope he continues to post stuff on other mediums. i mostly watched his YT short videos.
