Don't play it no, but have watched a decent amount of Summit and ChairHandler playing it back at it's peak and it's pretty entertaining.

In FFXIV, they had dedicate RP servers so the rest of us could play in peace.

GTA RP is played on dedicated servers.
But yeah I watch Summit play from time to time and it looks fun as hell.

People scream and cheer on as they watch students many years younger than them engage in an athletic contest that they have absolutely no influence on - but will say "they" won regardless.
An impartial observer would probably consider that "weird".
