I am looking for a new Switch game and this one popped up.

Anyone playing it?

How is it?

Worth the money?

It's worth it but you need to have a soft spot for old-school JRPGs. This series is an homage to the Final Fantasy games on the SNES and PSX.

If you like old school JRPG's its great. There's a lot of depth in the brave/default battle system and I'm really enjoying the job system. The story is a pretty typical JRPG story so far (only 15 hours in) but the gameplay is enough to keep me going.

I find it enjoyable. There is grinding involved or you will get wiped easily.

Dragon Quest 11 has a free demo right now.

To anyone that knows: If you had to chose between and Altelier Ryza & Fire Emblem 3 Houses?

Which one?

Three Houses is a strategy RPG, and has very little in common with Atelier Ryza or Bravely Default in gameplay department. Bravely Default is more a traditional RPG.

Ryza has a lot of item creation/crafting mechanics as the main character is a alchemist. Does have turn based combat though.

Which one I would recommend would be determinant on what type of game you want at the moment. You'd be hard pressed to go wrong with 3 Houses though.

Bravely has a demo and I never got into it. I heard that Ryza is different-and am not into costume changing and crafting. Is Fire Emblems combat like DQ 11?

Scruffy, also look into Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA | First 45 minutes . Playstation has the next Ys series out. (I am jelly) NSwitch's latest Ys game is coming soon.

I like the 3D RPG's and am waiting for SkywardSword in July. PStation has all the Dragon Quests I am jelly. DQ11 looks storied and cartoonish; but I played it to the end and really liked it.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was surprisingly good.

Has anyone played Sakuna of Rice and Ruin? It looks like it might be a decent rpg.

Can't pass up on FE 3 Houses if you are a fan of strategy RPGs. It is up there with the best of SRPGs. Also has a ton of replayability with multiple routes to follow.

As mentioned FE3 is a different game, but it is fantastic. Really unique, and a great strategy RPG.

I have not played BD2, but am working my way through DQ11

I bought FE3.

I wasn’t enamored with the BD2 demo.

Not at all. Fire Emblem is a strategy RPG where combat takes place on a grid (like other Fire Emblems, Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, etc). DQ11 is a much more traditional turn based battle system.
