I played a good bit of the first one and really liked it. Then it got stale quick and I quit. Is it ok if I just jump into the 2nd one? Is it better than the first one? I really want to like this game.

Keep in mind I never played the first one till like 2 years ago.

This is my first run through of this one and it’s been tough lol.

Apparently you have to play through the story like 3 times and each playthrough is 10+ hours or something like that.

Imo, the first one is the best of the series. I would say if you can’t appreciate the first then the series is not for you.

playing 1&2 will do next to nothing to prepare you for 3 story wise

That’s just not true

The majority of the plot that we know now, the whole deal with Xehanort, is all created and explained in BBS and DDD. You don't even see him at all in KH 1 or 2. Most of the stuff in 1 & 2 just ended up being kind of a side story to the actual plot of the series

2 is a lot better imo, the combat/movement/etc feels kind of clunky in 2018. KH2 aged a lot better. The pace is a lot faster in combat

1 & 2 hold the series together, they are the main plot points. The foundation in kh1 still holds true for the series.

The first one is so old and does not hold up well if you weren’t invested in it when it first came out. The 2nd one is exponentially better and holds up pretty well. Better gaming mechanics, visuals, movements, story, etc

Replayed the first 2 and Chain of Memories. I watched one 25 minute video to understand the story links between all the other titles. Pretty stoked about this release.

Look, I'm just wanting to smash some heartless and nobodies with my boyz Donald and Goofy.

Can I do that in Kingdom Hearts III? If so

Btw, is the abundance of sea salt ice cream popsicles ever explained in any of the games?

Those look delicious btw

I mean 30-35 hours for RPG is pretty right for me. Especially if the it's broken up to have 3 different story experiences. I hope I'll be able to finish it in time.

Pretty sure Nomura said he just thought it was the perfect treat to have with friends or something like that. He just likes them.

I mean, I kinda want one tbh. Wonder if there's a Ketogenic recipe for them.

BBS was a drag. I understand the fighting system being a little different because it was released on the PSP but it doesn’t translate well to the PS4; same with Chain of Memories and the game it advanced. Plus the bosses are fricking hard, especially lingering will

Dunkey is a fricking god. My SO introduced me to his videos earlier this year and he's my favorite YouTuber now.

The first 2 are huge guilty pleasures of mine. I love final fantasy and I love Disney so this was the perfect game for me when it first came out, the first one is one of my favorite games of all time and the 2nd was great too

Yeah I like the guy. First video of his I saw was Ultimate Skyrim and I just fell down a youtube rabbit hole after that.

Agreed. BBS's combat is too "card"-y for me. It's not exactly cards like CoM but the whole deck thing with commands that cycle is just like CoM and it just turns me off as opposed to the really good-feeling combat of the main games

I’ll be honest, I’m hating it.

Never played any of them. Is the combat and RPG character building fun? I love JRPGs with turn based fighting or semi-action fighting.
