I am trying to get rid of a villager. Any clue what to do?

I've spent entirely too much time researching how to do this...

Apparently, there is only one guaranteed way to force a specific villager off your island. To do it, you need to have an amiibo and invite the amiibo villager to your campground. After inviting the amiibo villager three times (and crafting whatever item they want you to make each visit), you can invite them to move to your island and boot off the offending villager of your choice.

If a random villager (not from an amiibo) visits your campground, you can invite them to stay... but you can't choose who gets replaced.

Complaining to Isabelle only changes how villagers talk/dress. Fencing them in does nothing (they can actually spawn outside of their prison). Leaving trash near their house does nothing. Giving them trash as gifts (while funny), does nothing. Hitting them with the net or pushing them around the island only irritates them for a few minutes. Ignoring them changes nothing.

So each villager has a "friendship level" that can increase, but it never decreases. The level increases by interactions/gifts, but that's about it. In the end, the friendship level does not change whether or not a villager wants to move out.

A RANDOM Villager each week will get the brown thought bubble over their head and ask if they should move. Nothing impacts who that villager is.

So yea, that's how it works. You either buy (or make) an amiibo, or you hope you get lucky.

Do y'all find the turnip predictor sites accurate? My turnips are at 137 now, were at 134 this am. They seem to think I'll max out at 149.

Turnip prophet has been pretty reliable so far. If it's saying that's your max, I'd sell if you don't think you can find someone with better prices during the week.

I'm still running an 85% of a large spike up to 600 possible. My fear is that the spike hits while I'm working.

Mine has been pretty spot on so far in the month or so I've been dealing with it.

What I will say, is if you increased on Monday, be prepared to pull the trigger on the sale quick, because those prices will tank in a hurry

Man I can't for the life of me catch a Coelacanth. It's been raining on my island all day and I'm pretty sure I've had a shot a 4-5 of them but they get away from the lure so fast. For the sake of sounding stupid, any tips on timing? I literally have no issues with any other fish.

It's probably not normal, but I close my eyes once I know the fish is going for the lure. For some reason, it's easier for me to just pull the trigger by sound instead of keeping my eyes on the lure. Maybe the visual is throwing you off.

I tilt the camera to ground level after I cast (and preferably before the first nibble if I can help it, but it's not always possible). The nibbles are noticeably louder at that angle than the overhead angles. You do sometimes lose sight of the bobber doing this, but you'll generally be able to tell if it's a good cast anyway so it's worth it if you ask me.

And definitely try diverting your eyes. Closing them works. I prefer to stare at the A button.

I close my eyes and go off the sound too, and I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one who does that.

Huh...I don't seem to have any vendor visitors (Redd, Leif, etc) to my island today. I thought someone visited every day.

Visitors like CJ, Flick, Celeste and Saharah can sometimes spawn in weird places. I have a weird rock outcropping off the back of my island and Celeste spawned out there once. You may need to do a sweep behind buildings, behind cliffs and check those odd rocky out croppings, I bet one of the wanderers is out there.

I'm at 153 this morning and now a 90% chance for a small spike pattern with a peak around 206 this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Anyone have any more promising patterns?

I'm looking like a small spike this week to 200ish. Happy to open my island, but I assume one of us will hit bigger.
