though she'll play the hell out of Sims on PS4. I'm hoping she'll dig Animal Crossings NH.
She's definitely going to love ACNH then. You should definitely join on the island with her too, unlocking the different things on the island goes a bit quicker when you have someone else to help with things.

I finally fished up enough empty cans for the trash recipes but now I don’t have enough old tires to make the trash heap wall and flooring

I'll probably take that advice
I enjoy games with "no end". Can't even remember the last game I played that was totally linear with no endgame content. Love games that "end" but keep on going, it's why I'm so partial to the Final Fantasy titles and games like Skyrim and W3.

How is everyone doing in Happy Home Paradise? I started late. I have finished 6 homes including the first one for Eloise. I also have ones for Vivian (wolf - wanted a gym to dance it out), Rio (ostrich - workout workshop), Alli (alligator - mushroom forest), Julia (ostrich - a place to enjoy my guitar), and Tybalt (LSU colored tiger - a slugger dugout, lots of baseball things)
I don't necessarily pick a character for the theme. I usually just pick the one on the beach I like the most. Once I pick the character I usually look online to see their favorite colors to know what color to customize things.

I've literally gone to the island resort once. I keep forgetting about it.

It’s been nearly two months since anyone posted in this thread. Has anyone else stopped playing? I haven’t played since Christmas Eve. Got a PS5 and that’s where my gaming focus has been. Even before that, though, I had gotten bored with AC. I’m sure I’ll go back to it at some point, though.

I played hard right around the November update and as soon as Pokemon BD/SP dropped I stopped playing ACNH cold. The other day my niece wanted to visit my island and I had to hurry up and pull six thousand weeds to have it look halfway presentable
ETA: and then Pokemon Arceus dropped and I stopped playing BDSP cold, apparently I can only fixate on one thing at a time

I still play daily. Enough to run through errands and build Iron Wall Lamps to give to islanders to get their pics and send them on their way.
There's supposed to be a Shamrock Day event coming up next week. Not sure when that update drops.

I hop on every day or so. Just finished my gyroid collection and trying to knock out the museum.
My girls got crazy back into it for a couple months when the happy home expansion came out, but they completely burned themselves out on it and neither have touched it since.

Is there any way to track that? I have 80+ of them, but there's no way to tell which ones you still need.

Yeah, if you go to your nook shopping app and select the one that has flooring/wallpaper/etc it has a section for gyroids and shows all the ones you've collected. I knew there were like 38 different ones so once I got to that number I bumped my list up against a guide online.
I wish they would've added nook miles rewards for it like they do for bugs and fish, would've been way easier to know.

That is fantastic info, thanks! Looks like I'm 36/38.

Some of the 3rd party apps that track the prices and predict the cycle are nice. The more data you plug in each week, the more accurate they are.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will check them out.

You can hit up turnip exchange and fly to some strangers Island and sell. Sometimes they want a tip or something but not always.
Oddly, getting all the money I needed is part of what took fun out of the game.

I still play daily, doing chores etc. I have all the gyroids (36). I have to get a few more art pieces to finish my museum. I'm enjoying Happy Home. I enjoy taking it slow. I have 12 houses built there. My goal is to get to 30 so I can reset Audie's house on my island to the one she is supposed to have. She has a starter house. Her real one is much better.

Dammit, man. This was my first go at the Bunny Day events, and that damned rabbit can EABOD for making you collect enough eggs to craft one of EVERYTHING.
I know there's a disconnect between the Japanese mindset and American ways of thinking, but Nintendo's methodology of "You need to play the game the way we want you to experience it" can suck the joy right out of it, many times.
There being no metric in the game for knowing how many of the seasonal DIYs you have left to collect is one of them. I spent an obscene amount of time shooting down Bunny Day Egg balloons, thinking I still had a dozen DIYs to collect, and was getting super frustrated that all I was getting were Sky Eggs, only to find out I had all the recipes.

ZTB is a major a-hole.

I have an app called ACNH.Guide and it has a feature to help you track your DIYs. I think the catalog scanner will let you auto populate your DIYs into the app, and once you have the main list in, you can keep up with it manually during an event to be sure you have everything.
You can also use villagerdb.com to create a profile and create a wishlist of the holiday diys you know you don't have before the events start, and then delete them as you get them.
