Small update dropping tonight. I was hoping for more but it is something.
May Day Returns With New Island To Explore - I didn't have the game last May Day so I am actually looking forward to this.
International Museum Day Returns With Art Exhibit Stamps - This was boring last year. Yes they are adding the art part of the museum because we didn't have the Art part of the museum last year.
Wedding Season Returns With New Items - I also didn't check out the wedding season last year. I had just bought the game and was tending to a lot of other stuff on my island. I will probably see what it is about this year. The new items look ok.
New Nook Shopping Seasonal Items: Children’s Day & Cheese Rolling - Cheese Rolling - interesting
There really is a cheese rolling contest in England in June. There are going to be a total of 13 different new items are coming to Nook Shopping including 4 new wedding items. This flag in this picture is one of them.

I’ve now got two rare/popular/sought after villagers: Merengue (strawberry shortcake rhino) and Stitches (bear cub who looks like a stitched together stuffed animal). I’ve had Merengue for a while, but Stitches came to my campsite today and luckily I had one spot available for a villager. Took a while to convince him to come.

Has anyone had any luck with the Sanrio amibo cards? I don't know much about them but my daughter was super excited about them and on launch day all the Targets were immediately sold out as soon as they launched (of course). I googled to see if more are on the way but not much news about it. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to print and package more

Just get NFC tags and make your own.

Can someone please tell me why cherry trees are frickING IMPOSSIBLE to find on Mystery Islands?

I believe the game is set up that you can’t get all the fruit trees on your own. So you will never be able to get them even on mystery islands. You will have to get them from another player’s island at some point.
I know I was unable to get peaches on my island when I started. Luckily my kids island had peaches as their primary. We were able to exchange and then start growing all on our own.
