Yeah. I made one specifically for this on the 3rd level. I went to a few NMT islands and used the river on their top (2nd) level and still nothing but black bass and pike. I guess it's back to farming clams tonight.

I have three rivers that start up high on my island - a 3rd tier pool by my house that runs down through the 2nd tier to the 1st, and then I have two 2nd tier pools that drop down to 1st tier.

I tried bait on all of those and ultimately I got mine on the 2nd tier river, for what it's worth.

I went to the museum to check when I caught my stringfish. I remember that fricker vividly now. I caught mine late on March 31st not using bait on the second level of my island. That spot ended up netting me a lot of first fish, know for sure the golden trout was caught there too. Most of my rare higher river fish spawn there. I remember freaking out when I caught it because I knew it would be December before it came back.

Finally caught it last night. Probably went through 200+ bait. Also caught the lobster last night. Getting closer

Man I'm not looking forward to grinding diys for Christmas. Especially since it'll be only 10 days to get and make everything. I saw where you can make prison bars and line them down the beach so everything will float down to the bottom so you can get them, but even that's a grind.

Hopefully we can all help each other out like always with crafting the decorations.

I'm having a heck of a time making a perfect Snowboy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ETA - I finally tried the "timing method". It worked. 17 seconds to make the body of the Snowboy and 12 seconds to make the head. You start counting once you can roll the snowball with your hands. Don't count when you are kicking it.

No it'll respawn if you go inside and come back out.

Just go in a building and back out. It that doesn't work, close the software and come back in. I broke several!

I use the size technique. Stand next to the ball in the same row, just below or at the eyes for the top of the snowboy, just above or at the top of the eyes for the bottom. Worked fine for me.

Day 1 I just eyeballed it but it took a bit of fiddling before I felt confident I had the dimensions right. The timer method you listed above makes it MUCH quicker. Thank you!

Also was smart enough to grab my dung beetle this morning before building Snowboy so my bug collection is complete!

Thanks. I was a little disappointed at first. The next spawn was 2 inches from the big ball. I guess I made him okay. He gave me a DIY and a large snowflake. Is that all I'm supposed to get?

Day 1 you get a DIY and a Large Snowflake. Day 2 if you visit him again (he will still be there), you will get another large snowflake, but there will also be two more snowballs you can roll into a new Snowboy for an a DIY and another large snowflake.

LINK

That was the result of the 17 second body / 12 second head method this morning. Hopefully that helps show scale.
