Wanted to try this game out for awhile. Bought with my Amazon store card credit. I got 3 missions in and hit a wall of constant mission failure. I've spent 10 minutes in a mission only to fail due to some obscure failure state only to have to restart the mission basically from scratch. The mission I'm on now requires that I destroy 17000 points worth of ground targets in 15 minutes. The ground targets are about 100 - 150 points a piece. I can get to about 9,000 before the timer runs out and I have to start over.

Screw it.

Sounds like you haven’t unlocked little boy or fat man yet. Unlock those first and try again.

You’re talking about Mission 6 “Long Day”?

A fast plane with long range air to surface missiles is going to make things easier. At this point in the game the MIG-29 with LAGM missiles would probably be the best choice.

At the start, go straight and attack the airfield. There’s about three TU bombers on the runway; They’re worth a lot of points so take them out while they’re sitting ducks. Air to surface missiles don’t lock onto grounded planes, so you’ll need to use standard missiles and machine guns on the bombers.

Clear out most of the enemies here, but don’t spend time going after every last enemy unless you can do it quickly and efficiently.

Head north to the canyon, and go to work there. At this point you’re probably starting to run low on special weapons. The enemies in the canyon are the closest to the return line, so if your’re going to go back to back to base to resupply, this is the time and place to do it after you empty your special weapons.

After most of the canyon is clear, go west to the last cluster of enemies. After you hit the points requirement, stay alive. Avoid low altitudes, and ground fire. Focus on defending yourself from air units.

Start trying to get S rank on the high difficulty. Your screen stays red the whole damn time and the time limits are brutal.

It's a fun game though and IMO the best ace combat. Most missions have something about them that will land you huge points fast, it just takes reps to find them. Stick with it and use the YouTube if you get stuck to the point of quitting. Once you know where the high value stuff is they get easy beat and going for the accomplishments becomes the challengr

I said screw it and traded it in for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. So far, I feel like that was the right move

wait till Mission 10
The first part’s fun as shite. The second part? Literally finding needles in a large haystack.

I’ve beat the game on every difficulty and I always dread mission 10.

Mission 19 is annoying too if you’re trying to take down the aces for the Special Skins.

But it’s your typical AC game. You’ll have a couple tunnel runs that’ll make you wanna break your controller. One thing I didn’t know until my 2nd playthrough is that if you hold RB/LB you can auto pilot to fly your plane straight. Very helpful for the tunnel run. Your welcome.

Just started playing last week. This game is a lot of fun. I’m having trouble getting past the Stonehenge level. I take out all bombers and support the ground troops but then the aresenal bird comes in and they say to take it out so I try that and it always ends with “Stonehenge is silent, mission failed” I’m not sure what else I need to do.

Also, does anyone have the joystick? Considering purchasing it but not sure if it’s really helpful. Ive gotten pretty good with just the controller

Stonehenge is tough to first pass because your planes are slow and low ammo capacity.

You dont take down arsenal bird, stonehenge does. Kill drones until it tells you to slow down the arsenal bird, when it does that you shoot a few of the engines.

Eta: that's what I remember at least, been a while.

Yea, that kinda what I did. Took some of those pesky drones out then started to shoot the propellers on the arsenal. I’m going to try again tonight.

I used the F18 Super Hornet at first but switched to the ADFX-01 Morgan jet and it has a huge cluster bomb that makes it easy to take out large groups of ground troops

well maybe I just need some practice. I have an A or B rank for every mission before this one and I take out every bomber, A10, drone and ground troop that they call out on radio so maybe I’m just doing it slow I dk
