So I just started a new play through in Master Mode, annnnd I now hate my life, the early part of this game was rough to begin with, but now it's just "frick you" level of bad

In Master Mode, you basically avoid fights for the first chunk of the game. I avoided battles until I got the Master Sword. Made the game boring to me and ended up quitting.

Wish their was something in the middle between normal and master mode.

I avoid fights even in normal mode. Run in to a camp, steal loot and leave.

I've "beaten" it on Master Mode and the only times where I was thinking screw this I want to go back to Normal mode was:
the very beginning when you die when everything hits you
the return visit to water blight Ganon in DLC
the final boss in DLC (still haven't beaten)

Besides that I feel like everything else wasn't all that crazy. I also don't seek out every camp I pass by because they're mostly white/gold enemies.

I'm in that early game stage which is why I'm hating it... I still have 3 hearts, and right now I'm just grinding to each tower and as many shrines as humanly possible, I'm kinda planning on going master sword/trials first to help out big time (also i need better armor for sure

/trials

Don't do this until you more than at least a full top row of hearts. I haven't even beaten that on Normal yet. I got wrecked on Master mode and haven't tried again yet.

I cleared them fairly easily on normal mode, but I'm sure on MM it'll be a bitch... I want my damn 60 atk master sword and will grind the frick out of the trials until I get it

So do I.

I always have a tendency to avoid combat with stealth when given the option in pretty much any game.

Really? I usually kill everything that moves. Besides Lynels, I don’t really get killed by stuff.

I lost count of how many Skyrim characters I started telling myself "OK! I'm NOT going to play a stealthy archer assassin!" and ALWAYS ended up reverting to that playstyle.

It's not really because I die if I take the fights, I just like being sneaky I guess

I’m fighting a few more people now that I have 14 hearts and two divine beasts done. The protection is a lot better, and I want the special arrows.

I won't get my armor upgraded past 2 stars. It breaks the game once you've gotten the 3rd or 4th upgrade to your armor. It's almost impossible to die even to Guardians and Lynels once you've gotten the 4th upgrade.

Yeah I really stopped going for armor upgrades after the 2nd star. I never really felt the need for it.

Yeah, 13 hearts on the Second Divine Beast really felt like cheating. I don't think my health even fell below 6 hearts. I was kind of nervous, but after that battle with the Master Sword I'm gonna start going on a tear.

I also got a really awesome bow yesterday: Royal Bow. 38 attack. Definitely holding on to that for a while

That’s how I did it. Zora’s Domain and then the desert one. I’m getting ready to take on the boss of the Death Mountain beast. I need more cold resistance stuff before I go for the last one apparently.

Also, holy shite at ancient armor prices. frick.

Worth it, especially if you suck against those mini-guardians in the shrines.

Easy money: collect meat, cook 5 in a meal at a time, sell to merchants. Tedious, but my second play-through I didn't sell a single gem and I bought everything in the game. Becomes incredibly easy once you get to cold regions where there are tons of animals to slaughter.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be heading to the cold regions next. I just need to get some more spicy peppers

Pro tip: shield surfing is a quick way to get around the Hebra mountains.
