I really like it, I've tried most MMO's since EQ and this is the most fun I've had since WoW, it's still early but no monthly fee makes it so much better.

Is it true that Engineer's level the slowest?

I'm planning on rolling a pistol/pistol iron charr engineer, but would love to know if there are any glaring problems with that from the experienced guys before I waste time on it.

Are you asking if they take longer than other professions to burn through enemies?

There are complaints about the engineer, but I don't think they are substantially less effective than other classes. Their utility skills center on dropping stationary turrets - think more resilient shaman totems - that either heal or deal damage to enemies within a radius. Engineers aren't really made for drawn-out solo fights because once the turrets are suspended, you have to rely on a lot of kiting and the odd snare (rifles have a single-target stun and pistols have an AoE immobilize).

You really flourish in group situations, though, where you can toss out "elixirs" to grant buffs and regens, and you can detonate your turrets to inflict conditions like blindness to enemies nearby.

Reasons I didn't like the engineer: in my experience, if you want to play as a gunslinging character, there are better options. A thief with dual pistols and a warrior with a rifle are both better for pure ranged damage. Don't play an engineer unless you're really interested in playing a support role with your turrets and elixirs. Engineers are very limited as far as weapon skills, as you can only equip rifles, pistols, and shields. This is somewhat balanced by the fact that you can use utility skills to equip either a medical or grenade kit, which replace your weapon skills. But again, these are only really good for group events where you are up against a lot of enemies.

So, in short, I think if you go into the engineer class with the "sharpshooter" archetype in mind, you'll be disappointed. You are more focused on constructing turrets and handing out alchemical tonics, as the name implies.

Thinking about picking up Guild Wars 2.

What does the end game scene look like? I've read that the raiding paradigm present in WoW is largely absent here, which prompts the question - what do you do when you reach the level cap?

May I get one as well.

I'm updating now. Should be done shortly and then I'll pick the server.

I haven't seen anything major, I think they are a bit overwhelmed with the popularity and loads. Nvidia 500 series cards are getting screen freezes.

I just purchased the game but encountered an issue with the initial install...

Whenever I try to install the game from the client it crashes..

Has anyone else encounters this issue or heard of it?

Thanks

Do they have a "Looking For Group" for the Dungeons like WoW?

On another note I made a Sylvari Mesmer and I have been enjoying it.

What everyone doing about their traits? I have been just tossing points into this or that. I have not read whats the best for that class and having fun not going cookie cuter.
