So there's no charge based on distance driven?

No, but you can only get food delivered from restaurants within a certain distance of your location. So you cannot order food from an uptown restaurant for delivery in lakeview.

I live in Metairie and just ordered from MoPho to see what happens. Card did get charged. We will see.

after promotional period, restaurants will be paying fees based on the order amount.

So does the restaurant pay these fees and pass through to customer through app, or does the restaurant eat those fees?

That's up to the restaurants. The prices on the ubereats app can vary from their own site, so they are allowed to pass it on to customers, but not all will do so. I would imagine it depends on their margins.

If it pops up on the app when you put in your address, they will deliver, but something like Company Burger won't come up if you put in a Metairie or lakeview address.

I did and posted in WFDT. Wings were hot and rice bowl was close to what I would get there. Asked him how he was making any money, he did not know LOL. I told him I could not leave him a tip via the order and gave him $5.

So, only charged extract menu price and delivered to the house, pretty cool. Even when they start charging the extra $5 it would be worth it.

I'd rather support Waitr, a local company.

I use it often with no issues.

Company Burger downtown came up for me, when I looked through the closed restaurants, available in Westwego.
But don't remember seeing Ditali's(Manhattan) listed, which it was for someone in the CBD, today.
