Fiancee is a big wine drinker, but we rarely buy a bottle that costs over $10. Looking to throw together a variety case of assorted reds for Christmas. What do you all prefer within that price range?

Don't know the board's opinion but really like True Myth's cab and Bogle's petite syrah

Constantly in my SO and Is rotation. At $10,hard to beat. Especially that inferno.

I know nothing about wine, though.

Predator is my favorite Zin under $25 and its not even close. Order it if your local store doesn't carry it. You will not be disappointed.

Cigar Zin
7 Deadly Zin
Oak Ridge Zin
19 Crimes
No Curfew Blend
Barrelhouse Blend

Plenty of Malbecs as well just none off the top of my head

Have been picking up this recently while at the store. Wife used to really like "Cupcake" but has been converted.

Also Ill pick random Malbecs in the $15-20 range that sound good. Haven't found one that really stands out from the rest but all in all Ive never been burned by a bad one.

Where do you live? Trader Joe's is the best place for cheap wine. I don't buy their brand, but they carry hundreds of brands you won't find anywhere else for $10 or less.

Petite Syrah or Shiraz is my favorite style of red. My go-to is Darkhorse Petite Syrah, which I buy at TJ's. This wine isn't even on the Darkhorse website and it isn't sold in any store that carries other Darkhorse wines. It must be discontinued. Regardless, it is $7 at TJ's.

Lot so of good recommendations here. I bought a few cabs, a few merlots, a couple Shiraz, and some red blends this afternoon. I know some werebon the lists a few mentioned.

The one I am looking most forward to trying is the Bere Toscana and the Coppola Merlot.

Good suggestions in here so far.

I would add these:

Educated Guess cab. $19-20
Earthquake cab. $22-25
Gentleman's Collection blend or cab. $14-15

Enjoy!

I'd add a decent Barbera to the list. Great drinking wine and almost all are under $25. I usually get the Mauro Veglio at Total Wine. It's about $18 a bottle.

Lisabella Montepulciano di Abruzzo. Was visiting our friends in Abruzzo, the wife is a well-renowned sommelier in Italy. She turned us on to this wine. It drinks like a Brunello, minus the price. You can find it here in the states at Bevmo for $12.
