That's Cartwright at the bar there....he and my grandfather drank there going back to the 50's & 60's at the old place.

It really is a great menu and really comfortable atmosphere there.

just pulled up the menu and think I would spend less money at Peche or Shaya then I would at the College Inn. I get nostalgia, but I opt for quality.

You sound like a snobby hipster yoci is better than both of those places.

You would be wise to heed Abe's advice.

I was a frequent customer at the old place and have been a few times to the new one. The old place was a true neighborhood joint. The new one to me is more upscale, but still trying to somewhat maintain the neighborhood vibe - similar to Katy's. I've had some good meals at the new one, and some that were outright bad (right after they lost their head chef, so that could be the cause). Its expensive for what it is. We don't go as much as we used to, mainly because we used to dine before we hit Rock N Bowl, and lately the music acts have been not nearly as uniformly good as they used to be.
And the thought that its better than Peche and Shaya, makes me long for the old days when i used to routinely ingest pyschodelic narcotics.
