I was thinking about if there would be any of the “speak easy” type of things going on.

Please don’t name any of them if you know of one.

Why would I want to drink with "fiends" as I prefer to drink with friends------much better class of people.

LOL. I’m not even fixing it.
I didn’t know about them losing their poker machine licenses. Yeah that would suck.

One minor thing that I’m not liking is that the daiquiri shops can still sell there stuff, but my Mexican place can’t give me a frozen margarita with my to go meal.
I know it all is due to the kind of permit, but I wanted one of their margaritas bad the other night.

Oh, believe me, they'd lose their licenses over that. When the video poker machines first came into bars many years ago I use to frequent bars in St. Bernard Parish that had Friday and Saturday night poker games in their back rooms where cash was used instead of chips. The amount of the betting limit determined how much you had to come into the game with and put it on the table.

Once video poker came to the bars, the cash poker games dried up due to the chance the bar would lose the machines for violating the law.

Closing the bars over this virus is just another law, and if they try to skirt the issue, they are in violation of the law.

Video poker is the only thing that keeps a bar profitable/open. If caught being open it would be a state violation and you would lose your poker license.

It would take about a year to get it back, maybe longer.

Video poker machines are connected directly to the state police and they have been disabled.

That doesn’t mean the front door can’t be unlocked and the coolers don’t work.

Interesting. Here in BR, the daiquiri shops are closed but the Mexican places are serving margs.

I have a friend with a bar in Bywater. He’s running a speak easy with no more than 10 people. $40 all you can drink and dinner and apps.

I’m not saying the neighborhood bar is but there were a few vehicles there
One was a service company, others could have been owners / bartenders cleaning
It doesn’t have windows, neighbors could easily walk over & hang out
