There's something strange about this contest. I was going through the pages of dishes and, for example, there's a dish of pasta with anchovies and olives that appears on nearly every page and sometimes, twice. No votes yet, but it appears repeatedly.

I have seen this too. My favorite one looks a little like a wedge of Alfredo pizza. It is displayed on almost every page - maybe six or eight times across the postings, with never any votes recorded. I assume some dummy keeps entering it day after day.

The latest funny one is that red/white/blue flag birthday cake for (the captain?) I think it appears three times now, except the person uses a different description for each entry.

I explain them to myself as the actions of either spammers or dummies.

***********

My latest worry is I am having some medical problems - they came up last week. Diagnosed as Atrial Flutter probably caused by my old open heart surgery - when they replaced my mitral valve. Until I get this properly addressed, I am not a candidate for international travel. I am currently seeing my buddies at Jackson Heart and they seem to know what they are doing - first drugs for six weeks, then if they don't work, shocking my heart (defibrillation) under sedation to attempt to restore proper rhythm that way and finally RF ablation as a last resort. This is the latest of a string of "it can happen after open heart surgery" disappointments.

At the moment, I am sort of recliner bound and on a series of new drugs designed to slow down my heart/pulse rate, keep blood pressure up, and chemically restore the proper atrial/ventral rhythm.

Oh well, as my youngest son says, "It is what it is."

MD, I will keep you in my prayers that you recover in time to take your trip to Italy. In the meantime we will all keep doing our part to make the trip happen.

Be careful with that a-flutter. My dad's a-fib, untreated, led to stroke/vision loss. Let those good docs keep you ticking.

Prayers your way, MD. I hope it all gets straightened out. Perhaps the trip doesn't have dates certain at this time and could still be worked out. We'll keep voting and you keep us updated. Take care of yourself!

Thanks for the good thoughts guys. The trip (minor concern at the moment) will be in the last half of the year and this needs to be fixed before that.

Just feel like crap at the moment. The atrium chamber is beating faster than the ventricle chamber, so the heart is not pumping very well. They know what to do to fix this, just not happy with all of the options to fix it.

Maybe Coater will weigh in with an opinion. What do you say Coater. I believe my trust in Dr. Guynes is well justified. I like him just as much (well maybe a tad less) than my Cardiologist from Meridian, who saved my life at least twice.

Praying for you and your health, but also for this trip, ha. I know what it's like to have heart trouble. I have A-fib. Used to not worry about it but do more now that I'm getting older(at least I think I am). Take care of yourself. Let us take care of getting you to Italy

MD's Cannelloni had a pretty good day today, thanks to help from a lot of friends. The 2nd - 4th place recipe entries still all have strong daily support. We will see what happens with them as time goes by.

These are the links for voting on my entries. Asking you to vote on all of them was a flirtation that was foolish. The only one that stands a chance of remaining in the top three vote getters is the Cannelloni:

Cannelloni

MD's Cheesecake

Veal Piccata

MDs Pasta with chicken and mushrooms

As always, thanks for your help. You can vote for my recipes once a day.

The 3 behind Meridian are quickly gaining ground.

Vote early and often today, FDB.

ETA: I don't math good.
