Which is baffling to me. While I'm happy to concede that Lafayette has a great food scene for its size, I've never seen anything approaching a reasonable argument for it being a better food city than Baton Rouge
The argument has to start somewhere

Wow you guys bitching about food cities ruined this thread. I have to scroll through all of your bullshite to find something related to the actual question. We get it, some of you snobby assholes like to complain about BR. Fantastic. Move the F out and go eat Fois Gras burgers or whatever you picky queers like to eat.
I’ll agree with Any Sammy’s location. Remember when it was the rage in BR. Now anytime somebody brings up going to Sammy’s you can see it in people’s faces like nah... let’s do something else.

Worst personal experience was Sullivan’s by a landslide. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, my rare filet arrived resembling a charcoal briquet. Felt like a bad prank.

Just went through every link and not a single one had any "argument" beyond the OP of the first, which was this:
quote:
for me definitly lafayette. they have great cajun food, but also have a great variety of restaurants. lots of different ethnic restraurants, fine dining, etc.
Lafayette's Cajun restaurants are fricking awful (not to pick on Lafayette; Cajun restaurants as a category are almost always awful. I genuinely have no idea why nearly everyone's mother can cook better Cajun food than any restaurant that attempts to do so), Baton Rouge has a greater variety of restaurants, has more and a greater variety of ethnic restaurants, and more and better options for "fine dining" (if such a thing truly exists in Louisiana outside of New Orleans).
Again, not saying Lafayette isn't a good food town; it is. Also not saying that Lafayette isn't better "per capita" than Baton Rouge; it very well might be. But to argue that, in a vacuum, Lafayette is a better place to eat than Baton Rouge simply strikes me as silly.

I agree. The hipsterish one-upmanship has been tiresome.

What's so wrong with fat cow? It's nothing special but two people agree its the worst place in BR?
It's burger king.
I'm just happy people are beginning to believe it.
