Yep, McDonald's and Canes are both building on the Rouses side of Burbank (and Arby's and McAlister's). I think McDonald's recently started their build. Canes will be the first lot coming from campus. McDonald's is closing their location right there and on Nicholson.

As mentioned, that side of town needs a Hardware store in the worst way.

How do y'all feel about this? I definitely understand wanting in on the action across the street, but both places stay packed already. I hope that when they leave, it gets developed sooner rather than later. Wouldn't want to see that just sit.

Arby's and McAlister's

Oh wow, really? McAlister's and Jason's Deli together in an area for college students is certainly interesting, but I can't say Jason's Deli was empty last time I was there.

McAlister's failed in a business corridor of BR so I'd be surprised if college students keep both it and Jason's alive together. Seems Panera Bread is more the young people sandwich shop over the other two.

I still say Zoe's Kitchen would kill over there.

Winn Dixie was plagued with poor traffic flow in/out and outdated facilities.
This, plus the store was so poorly managed that it seemed Winn Dixie wanted the store to go out of business. Just one example: the lunch meat counter / deli was closed at 2:00pm on a Sunday on multiple occasions.

I used to destroy the Jasons Deli salad bar in college. Would’ve loved to have had one a little closer

me too.
man i miss those cases of 10 ounce bud light, miller, coors, budweiser for $9.99.
We literally put food back the first time we saw that in the summer and got as much beer as possible, then just ate cheap sandwich meat for lunch and dinner.

For sure. I feel like a lot of those places that were popular years ago have just kinda faded out and are being replaced with the newer versions like Panera, Chipotle, etc. Who knows.. maybe McAlister's will kill it.

The Jason's Deli right there wasn't doing unlimited salad bar trips the other day. The sign about it was a permanent engraved type deal, so I guess that's going away.
