Yeah that's one I have to get by the case. My wife loves it. They have a beautiful winery too.

No wine preservation for me. Either finish the bottle, or cork and stick in fridge for tomorrow's cooking. I'm a southern European peasant at heart (and, genetically LOL).

I keep thinking I'll get a vinegar mother and a crock to make wine vinegar. Add it to the project list....right up there with brewing alcoholic ginger beer by Sandor Katz's recipe in Art of Fermentation.

Opened up a refreshing bottle of arneis last night. $18 at Martin’s uptown, I’m buying a case when I go back. Great summer night dry wine from Piedmont.

Will also add in that vein the Tiberio Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo is a fantastic wine for this time of year.

I’ve been in a dry Riesling kick as well this spring. None of that Cali stuff with the scream, but German produced.

We are definitely going there in a couple years. 5 year anniversary in Italy.

Do the Franco’s wine tour or Montelcino if you go. You’ll Goto small producers and drink some 20 year brunellos.

Yes, SommSelect is great for burgundy.

Last Bottle has an occasional wine I'll grab. However, their marathons require me to take out a second mortgage.

I've had the Clark & Telephone several times and it was very good. I will have to try this one.

My new favorite thing - bring my own wine. Just got back from DC and all of the restaurants let us bring our own wine, with a small corkage fee. Leaving for Chicago tomorrow and all 3 restaurants booked are allowing me to bring our own wine in.

Here are some of the wines we've been drinking (in no particular order) (yes, I love Chateau Palmer Alter Ego, Chateau Palmer, Quintessa and Peter Michael):

I think I have one bottle left of Vietti that I purchased a few years ago. Just a regular old nebbiolo. Great drinking wine and priced right.

on the trashy side, I picked up a box of “black box” Malbec to make sangria with for a party this weekend and didn’t use it all. I drank a few glasses of it last nite and it’s pretty damn good. It was like 20 bucks for the equivalent of 4 bottles

I’ll drink it again

Had a 2015 Round Pond Super Tuscan tonight. Poured a glass for wife and then polished off the bottle. Have two more in cellar so will have to provide a better review on another night. But it’s damn good.

Chateau Palmer Alter Ego (their 2nd wine) runs about $100. Chateau Palmer runs about $300 depending upon the year. Chateau Palmer is in Margaux next to Chateau Margaux.

Last night we had:

Dirty & Rowdy's Evangelho Vineyard Mourvedre. 2017. Let that bad boy breathe for one hour and it was perfecto.
