My air conditioner went out mid day in my house yesterday. The wine was kind of an after thought but I had 5 bottles that were out of climate control on a rack that have been sitting in 83 degree or higher temperatures since yesterday a little after lunch. How can I tell if it ruined the wine? Should I get rid of it all?

It’s likely fine.

My wine fridge/cellar sat for over a week without power after Hurricane Ida so I was convinced all my wine would be cooked. It wasn’t.
All the bottles have been fine, including the fragile bottles over 20 years old.

Should I put it in my regular refrigerator temporarily?

Limited exposure to temps in the 80s isn’t going to damage any wine.

Contender is right.

You are likely fine unless you have some old Burgundy/pinot as it can be fickle. But most wine will be fine at that temp for a short period of time.

No need to put it in the fridge. If it is damaged, there is no going back.

It sat in the back of a delivery truck and un-air conditioned warehouse for a much longer time

That’s what my wife said. I did put it in the refrigerator just because we don’t have a fix yet. Thanks for the advice!

Back when I was In the restaurant industry we’d only dispose if the corks popped

Also both big distributors in my area have climate controlled warehouses for wine fwiw. The will sit in hot trucks for a few hours before delivery, usually tho.

It will be fine.
I had good wine that survived over a week in the heat after Katrina and Ida. Not all of it was perfect but most of it was fine.

If you want to get rid of it, send it to me.

Several mid range reds, a high end cab from Peju, and a 2017 Barolo that I planned to drink soon.

No popped corks as of now. It’s all nice and cool now if the fridge.

They’ll be fine, lay them down in a cabinet or closet until you get your ac taken care of. If you had some 20+ yr bottles I would be more concerned.

83 won't ruin it. I wouldn't drink it for a week or so.
