I've been following the list for years and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. If I had to guess I'd say money gets exchanged somewhere. There's no real way to whittle down all the wines of the world from the past year into a top 100 list

Of course it’s not even close to the best 100 wines available. What it is is a great resource on wines in certain areas that are affordable and easy to find, maybe those vineyards gave wine spectator some financial incentives to promote their product.

Yeah you don't see a lot of genuine cult or wine board favorites on these lists.
