not big on white wines but we do like rieslings. picked up three different ones for the turkey meal:

Kendall Jackson Vitner's reserve
J Lohr
and a third i can't remember off the top of my head.

i went to specs with a much more interesting list of rieslings but they let me down with the selection.

have a root 1 08 carmenere for after the meal. i enjoy this wine quite a bit.

bringing White Haven Sauvignon Blanc and a bottle of Eden Cabernet.. something I found at Specs with a 92 rating. I have no clue about choosing wines.

Can Someone make a new top bottles under $20 list again please? haha

Been awhile since I've had it, but this is usually solid.

Philippe (in Lafayette) turned me on to it. Bought a half case earlier this year. Drank one and have been sitting on the rest. Figure the holiday's a good time to crack a few.

I would love to try that. Northern Rhone is probably my favorite wine region in the world.

83 Chateau Margaux
I read somewhere that a lot of the 83 Margaux's had TCA problems. Is this your only bottle?

82 Pichon Lalande
Might be the best of the three. Supposedly one of the great wines of the century, no?

Dang bro, that's at least $1500 worth of wine. I hope your dinner companions appreciate it.

Mine too. I'm looking forward to the 89, but the 90 is even better.

I've had it several times, fortunately with no problems!

It is, and it's the bottle I'm most looking forward too.

I'm fortunate to be sharing with folks who will not only appreciate, but will also reciprocate, so I'm looking forward to being on the receiving end of some gems. It should be a great day, I'm looking forward to it.

I had a bottle of the Cade 2012 Sauv Blanc earlier in the year. A very nice wine.

CPB, I hope you'll pop back in this thread after the day is over to give us an update on how the wines were. I'm very eager to hear about them.

Save the nicer stuff for later amongst wine drinkers. Got some Blankiet left open that'll be nice.

Had a similar wine from Montsant Spain called "Vi Novello" delicious and well made. Not full carbonic maceration, some standard fermented juice added. Great alternative with a lot of character.
