With college football coming I wanted to make some fresh sausage while I watch. Can’t find for cheaper than 2.49 a lb. Does anyone know when or where they may be going on sale in the river parish or Metarie area

Wholesale pork prices have been staying pretty consistent, I haven't seen a major drop for longer than a week or two. I'd expect the price of pork you see now is going to stick around. Of course, they will always go on sale to get you into the store and to offload inventory.

Download the Flipp app and watch it for them to go on sale. It combines all the sales flyers into one spot.

Best I can offer is to check on-line for stores like Winn-Dixie, Rouses and Zuppardo's for their weekly specials that come out on Wednesday.
I generally wait until the price hits $.99 a lb. and buy 2 or 3 double packs then wrap them individually and freeze until I need them.
I make my own sausage and also love to smoke the occasional Boston Butt.
I was in Costco a couple days ago and they had double packs of Butts for $2.49 a lb. with $6 off at the register, but that still worked out to a little over $2 a lb.

The days of .88/lb twin packs are over unfortunately. Cheapest I've seen recently is $1.79/lb.

Don't know if you have a Kroger's near you but they are on sale through today for $.97/lb.
I find Kroger's has the most frequent meat deals, followed by Albertson's.

Yep, they come and go all the time. They are unpredictable when they happen, but they will happen again in the near future.

Zuppardos in Metry has them for 1.49/lb this week. Not a steal, but not bad if you need some. 2-pack.

Shoppers Value has them on sale for 1.29 per pound.
