Working class seafood places? Is one of the worst things ever posted on this board. Everyone who goes to Harbor is a welder? What a fricking joke. Kenner has a higher per capita income than Orleans Parish. How the frick does your premise make sense?

Yeah they are good, but the prices aren't much different from Deanie's or other Fried Seafood places.

I'm there at least three nights a week, did the cook off Sunday. I love that place. The owners seem not to worry much about money, Pauline and Stephen throw out free rounds all the time. I wish I lived around the corner, that place would be my "Cheers".

I'm, sure I'll bump into you there one day if I haven't already.

Favorite Boo Koo dish?

I'm torn between the Boo Koo burger and the Cajun Banh Mi.

And the boudin eggrolls, now that they have added an asian slaw to the mix. Great bar food. Me and Lee are tight. I am his guinea pig for new dishes.

I've probably ate at KennerBrah Seafood, Harbor, and Smitty's more than anybody on this board. I would say Kennerbrah Seafood is one of the best places in the area for Boiled seafood, but Smitty's is better for fried food. I love the cajun potatoes and the all you can eat crabs is a good deal when they run the special. Harbor is good when I'm by myself b/c its easy to find one spot at the bar instead of waiting for a table. I get beer and raw oysters when I can find a spot. I refuse to wait for a table with the other places right down the street.

Does anybody remember Messina's or La Bella's before they went stricly catering ? La Bella's roast beef and plate lunches were awesome.

Oh yeah their Nachos with all the meats on it kick arse.

If I didn't already cook dinner I would have gone there tonight. I'm going there tomorrow after I knock Freret Street Cafe off my list. (they have $13 Filet's on Wednesday) figure I'll get drunk try the Boudin balls and then crash at my friends on Iberville.

Just went to the Finns page and saw a picture of me on their facebook, being fat...
(hard not to when they have great food all the time)

Yes, it was really good.
What area you from?

I grew up in University City in a cul-de-sac off E.Louisiana St.

Cool, just figured you had to be a local, for the claim you made. But yeah you're probably right, My parent's were foodies and the disliked Kenner Seafood and Harbor so we always went to Bucktown for seafood or Middendorf's I've been to Deanie's more than I've been to Kenner Seafood, and I'm right around the corner.

I actually really like Kenner Seafood and Smitty's. But I'm not a huge fried seafood fan, and when I crave it I usually drive to the markets in Westwego, buy me some stuff and cook it up.

This thread kinda showed me there is more to Kenner food than I thought.

I really only frequent Young's.

Kenner has a small amount of good restaurants, an airport, and a casino. But that is about it, coming from someone that has lived here for 20 years outside of my time at LSU. The rest of the city sucks other than a few nice neighborhoods.

I'm going to have to try this Little Chinatown place. Congee with abalone? Fried intestine with XO sauce? Goat stew pot? Sounds legit.

I would say Deanies and Middendorfs are better then the places in KennerBrah. When friends come in town to visit I've never taking them to KennerBrah to eat that's for sure.

Hey, I'm not denying that. Everyone I know when we get together it's always "Man I need to get out of Kenner"

I eat out all the time, but rarely in Kenner.

I know it sucks, probably really nice for older Conservative people, but not a place for young adults at all. The only places to catch music and party are black clubs.

Hell I haven't been to Treausre chest in almost ten years, it has nothing on harrah's plus if I drink at Harrah's I have a choice of hotels to stay at not a second rate Hilton.

I few good restaurant, airport, and a Casino is better than most cities, but I wouldn't live there again. It's gone down hill a lot in the last few years.

Not reading past page one, so excuse me if I miss something, but . . .

Ristorante da Piero in Rivertown -

Very good. However, it's not what I'd call the best in the in the metro area. Maybe it depends on what regional Italian cuisine appeals to you. I do know the next time some a-hole interferes with my dining enjoyment by singing incredibly shitty opera or show tunes in,I'm in, I'm going to coldcock him.

Little Chinatown - Best Chinese restaurant in the metro area. Not even close really.

I'd like to try it. Chinese in N.O. proper is mediocre, at best.

I'm also interested in the Latin food in Kennahbra.
