Why does Baton Rouge have so many Greek and Lebanese eateries?

Always wondered why the area has a large population of Middle Easterners? I love the food (whenever we hit up the area, we always hit up Serops) , and wondered what appeal does Baton Rouge have for them to stay in area.

Lexington has a ton of Mexican eateries due to the Hispanic Population due to the farming and horsing industry (kick arse Mexican food in our area).

Explain OT'ers.

Because college towns have a lot of kids who think that eating ethnic foods make them more cultured.

Lot of middle eastern people in BR.

Only some of them support Hamas.

I miss some of those restaurants.

Pizza place...Mother Bears? Never been to Jankos. If you are ever in the area again eat at The Trojan Horse, on Kirkwood around the bars. Best Greek food I've ever had and its pretty cheap.

You would think that we also had a huge population of Japanese as well. You cant throw a stone and not hit a Sushi place around the Mall area. (Unless you are JJ of course)

There aren't any Greek restaurants in BR despite what people may say. They're all Lebanese/Middle Eastern.

There's a decent Greek population in NOLA, however, and probably plenty of Greek-owned places down there.
