Best in the state? I have no idea.
This place in Gonzales is really good. I like the Barbacoa gorditas.
Eh their Barbacoa is ok but I wouldn’t call it great. I am not as high on their food as some others on this board though. But I think any food that sits out on a steam line is going to suffer in quality.

Admittedly, I haven't been in a few years (pre-Covid), but back when I used to go it was solid. My current favorite is Sahuayo.

Haven’t had Gonzo’s, but when he posts pics it looks excellent. Barbacoa is my favorite taco.
The previous taqueria n the place where Sahuayo is now was probably best I’ve tried n BR area. Haven’t been since it’s the new name tho.
