The government will have to do something until the herd recovers from the drought. As it stands now, it’ll take 2-3 yrs to recover fully, assuming no more drought issues. The ranchers raising cattle are going away or switching to something else and the processing plants are shutting down and being liquidated. Once they are gone, you can’t just flip a switch and build a new one.

Not sure cheap imported beef is the best for the domestic industry

And just like that, venison closes the gap. I did some back strap this week using sous vide then sear, don’t miss steaks even a little bit. And a freezer still stuffed with ground meat. Need to start some family Distro to make room. Damn snapper got one freezer filled, and 3 freezers is enough for a household of 2.
